View Full Version : Why don't Blueprints tell you useful stuff?

I'm looking at some blueprints in the Science store, my character has a Science : Exposure skill of 218.
The blueprints just don't give enough information. This is very annoying when trying to plan anything.
None of the Exposure give any indication of what they are likely to be, short of where they are primary defence/secondary defence , it doesn't even say whether they are customisable ones or not, admitedly these are the only ones I'm interested in.
Also the Enhancements are almost as bad... it doesn't say whether they are major or minor.
Can you make more infromation available on the UI please?

known issue, UI Guru has the fix working, it is making its way through the QA process to you guys.

Glad to hear it. Remember to go easy on those QA testing guys. They get the very unglamourous job of testing the same thing over and over and over :-)

Awesome, thanks Antiproton.

just as a warning, it will be ugly for a while since you see both the Blueprint flavor text, and the flavor text on what it makes, and in MANY cases those are the same. I have to go through and strip off Blueprint Descriptions now that we have this tech, so that will take a bit.

I'm sorry. I feel your pain. I'm not on a Karaoke game or anything that painful, but I am at about 5,000 hours on the current game I'm testing (and still going).

hahahahaha......hahahahahahaah...ohhh...<pause>......HAHAHAHAHAAHAH<thud>
I feel ya .. I worked for Activision for 5 years in QA and had the hoy of being a QA lead for Jack Nicholas Golf: Golden Bear Challenge..... So many days i want to go emo and just smash a players face in with a golf club.....
on a side note.... not having discriptions is very anoying.... even worse..... the fact there are 100's of blueprints and most are crap.. I would have to say take some serious time please to figure out why any sane player would need so much random garbage to craft.
Granted every MMO has tons of garbage to help you level your crafting...but I have seriously only found 1 or 2 items that were worth using.... then to just find a random item off a mob that is better... and 4 levels lower item wise.

This is why Antiproton is so cool. Lots of responses for us players.

Bug any you find like that. There should never be an Upgrade that has fewer stat points than the same quality and same slot 4 levels lower, if you find any, point them out to me so I can fix them! :)

There are a bunch of mission rewards with wildly varying stats, "An Even Stranger Danger" from Clayton Griswold in Canada (Stroessen's Peak) has this.
A 11 CON/33 REC, 11PRE/33 REC, 19 DEX/31 STR and 28 DEX/22 REC, all level 28 Science. Two have 44 total, the other two have 50 total.
One of Clayton's other missions have a 8/2/1 Reward and three 7/5 rewards, all of the same level. That's a tripple with 11 total vs duals with 12. Is this an issue with rounding, where the tripple is actually better , but rounding doesn't let us see it?
I remember some other missions with rewards distributed like that in Canada around level 25-29. I'll try to remember to /bug them when I encounter them again.

Ok, the stranger danger ones are all point equivalent:
Teleiocite Schematics
Strstat .7008
Dexstat .4386
Strstat_Sec 0.7118
Dexstat_Sec 0.4252
Echoes of the Symbiote
Recstat 1
Prestat_Sec 1
Teleiocite Tech
Dexstat 0.7008
Recstat 0.4386
Recstat_Sec 0.7118
Dexstat_Sec 0.4252
Teleiocite Genetic Memory
Recstat 1
Constat_Sec 1
So different arrangements of points, all equivalent. The Primary and Secondary (Major and Minor to you guys) pools are each independent, and there is a discount the more stats the pool is spread across.
And yes, the 8/2/1 vs 7/5 issue is almost certainly a display one, with the under the hood values being different, but if you remember the mission name I'll check them out too. :)

That does, IMO, make it pointless to take those multi-stat rewards that don't split in both pools, but rather have two single stat pools. Unless they offer some stat combination you can't get elsewhere that is useful to your build.
You're getting a 14% increase by doing the dual split pools.
A pure single stat item is a different matter, it can provide a much needed boost and it's possible that you can't even get a secondary stat that is useful to your build in that slot (for that Skill at least).

well remember, it is an Offense slot so the only Primary stats available are Str, Dex and Rec. So the single Primary one could split some points off from Rec to Dex or Str, but that wouldn't necessarily make it more appealing to the people it is targeted at.

This is very interesting. So any item in the game that goes into an offense slot can only have STR,DEX & REC on it?
Can we get this information for the other slots as well? What type of stats can possibly be on what slots? I would find this information to be EXTREMELY valuable.

The OP stated that it was science and those are the stats on science ones.

I got that he said the primary stat would be of Str,Dex or Rec, with the ability to have another (Lesser valued) stat. or am i slowly loosing my mind......
