I would like to suggest a new feature that would apply to outside missions, I call it Vicinity Teaming. I look at it as a way to simplify forming Pick Up Groups (PUGs).

There are a number of outside missions (i.e. non-instanced) where players compete for resources: interact with an obelisk, defeat a rarely-spawned enemy (like Ferd in the Desert), etc.

I would have it work like this:
1. Go to Options and select Vicinity Teaming to "On"
2. Set your desired mission as your Primary (map circle becomes orange)
3. When you enter that region (in this case where Ferd may spawn), you are automatically teamed with everyone else there that has "Vicinity Teaming" turned on and that same mission set to Primary.
4. Your comm channel changes to Team.
5. No more competing for resources. Everyone gets the mission done. Ferd is defeated like the coward he is.

If you leave the mission area, change your Primary mission, or complete the selected mission, you are no longer on the Vicinity Team.

A natural extension of this process would be for instances. I'll use the Sinisister mission as an example. Again with Vicinity Teaming turned on (meaning you want to team with those near you) and Sinisister selected as your Primary mission, you go to the door. Once there, you are automatically Vicinity-teamed with everyone there with similar settings. Then you can all enter as a group for that instance.

No need for repeated cries of "Level 12 LFT" on Zone channel.

With Ferd and other kill missions, as long as you contribute to the damage done to the target you will get credit for the mission. I'm not positive on the numbers, but I finished Built Ferd Tough when I saw two other players fighting him and I jumped in.

On the collection quests where you have to interact with objects, there's usually a good number of them in the area that you should be able to get even if other people are in the area. Scout just outside of the mission area too. The marked areas aren't the only place to find what you're looking for.

Its still a good idea. Being able to mark yourself as willing to join a pick up group and having the game automatically join you up with nearby people doing the same mission would be very convenient. It would be a serious help for the missions where there's only one resource, like escort missions.

I had the same thing happen to me on the Ferd mission. Saw a couple of people attacking him so I jumped in and when he went down, I got credit for the quest. That is definitely a good thing. No more walking around the zone trying to get a group together. If you see others nearby, jump right in and join the fun!
