View Full Version : Acclaim is a bit low

So I have managed to earn a whopping 3800 acclaim by lvl 20 in about 35 matches. That's not even half of what I need to buy a single lvl 21 primary (which cost about 6800 acclaim).

About the only thing I can afford is 1 lvl 18 primary but then I will have little left to even think about a lvl 21.

So just how many matches does Cryptic expect us to play to afford even 1 primary at our current level?

And as a side note the secondaries are no better than mission rewards or drops or equal level which is a waste of acclaim imho. I would expect something I have to buy to be a bit better.

I just checked mine and I'm at a little over 1200 after 8 matches. I think, but please don't quote me, alot of it depends on matches won or lost. Also kills per death ratio. New to the PVP world I have a record of 7 wins 1 loss no ties. I would have to say I average 5-8 kills per match with 0 to 2 deaths. I'm not going to figure out the math but i think that is why I have more acclaim after 8 matches. Sorry if it sounds like bragging:p

Yes there seems little to no point to acclaim now.
The odd stim here or there and maybe one or two upgrades but thats about it.

Pretty pointless system as it is now. Makes me wonder why they even bothered coding it into the game.

My record is 25 wins / 12 losses / -2 <<<<< I have no idea what this negative number is because there were no ties)

I always average about 9 kills per and I seldom die. I think I average about 1 death every 3-4 matches.

So you can be the judge whether I should be getting more or less acclaim. ;)

i believe the negative happens in the draw column if you exit a match early

Yes, I have a 18/8/-1 with 1328 acclaim at level 10. I could possible get the lvl 20 stuff if I save my acclaim but by then it will be mostly useless. I tried with my other toon the same thing and ONLY leveling via Hero Games but I noticed that despite a good record, by the time you save enough for the items, they are't terribly useful.

It should get easier as leveling slows down considerably after levl 15 or so but it still seems that the acclaim scale is off at least at the lower levels. I suppose at level 40 it might become useful.... th easiest solution is to lower the xp gained from Hero Games and possibly an acclaim increase though I don't know as I don't mind doing 100 matches myself....

Too true, too true. To-do!

Right now, prices are balanced around the middle of the level range. By level 20, a faithful PvPer will have enough Acclaim to buy a full set of level 11-18 gear... except by then you want the level 21 stuff, which will be too expensive until you've gotten to level 25 or so.

Also, the prices are a bit higher than I'd like in general--they're balanced to reward someone who does more PvP than PvE, and I'd like to share a bit of love with the casual PvPers.

Rebalancing the upgrade costs is on my plate today. (Pro tip: this will probably increase the cost of the PvP action figures and costume unlocks a little bit, so buy them before the next patch! ;) )

Anyone know if this is true? I have never left a match early and I have never disconnected in PvP, but I have a -2. I don't know what it means either.

Wait....there's PvP action figures???!

And I don't know if 35 matches qualifies as "casual". Now have a spent most of my time PvPing since I hit lvl 10? No but 35 matches since Saturday should be something more than just dabbling in PvP imho. There is a fine line between dedicated and fanatic and what you are talking about to get a full set seems a bit extreme.

Of course with 3800 I could only afford 2 lvl 15 primaries as a lvl 20 before I will be broke so I'm not sure about the pricing being where it should be.

While I have your ear Lucid could you also look into the PvP items on the vendors? I bought the Stellar Luch. Leggings with +10 END, +21 EGO +8 Defenses on them but when I equipped the item the stats went DOWN to +8 END, +17 EGO and +6.7 defenses. WTH?

This item is no better than what I HAD equipped so I either need the item as advertised on the vendor I would like my 1889 acclaim back because that is a lot to lose on false advertising.

Anyone know if this is true? I have never left a match early and I have never disconnected in PvP, but I have a -2. I don't know what it means either.

I had to force quit out of one game because of a glitch that kept everyone in the match after it had ended. But even so I should only have a single -1 and not 2 of them.

Do you get acclaim for being support? I.e. heals?

I wish you did, but alas the acclaim is dmg done and stuff leaving out the healers, support characters, and things like that... the vast majority of my characters >.<

Not directly.

All players on a team get extra acclaim when they win a match. If you help your team win, you'll end up with extra acclaim.

You'll also get more acclaim the larger your margin of victory, so if you as a healer deny points to the other team, you'll get more acclaim out of it.

Also, to get credit for a defeat, you don't need to land the killing blow or to do all of the damage--you just need to contribute. You may want to consider mixing up your support with just a bit of damage to get credit for defeats.

Ok for the low acclaim awarded.. but hell costume and action figures increased MORE for buying them? i hope you're joking.. Costumes are just that... costumes.. and even after that Action Figures are absolutely just for fun and the last action figure for pvp cost about 1.000.000 acclaim.. increasing that is absolutely stupid by my point of view.
PvP Action figures and Costume are just fine the only thing needed is a increase in acclaim rewarded... stop

But you get acclaim when you get a "Player Defeated"...how is that fair?
