So I chose the reward with a ? on it after beating Menton in the prison. I double clicked it in my inventory, but I don't know what it does or what happened to it. Anybody know?

i sent a ticket to a GM to find out if it did anything or if there was a bug with it not functioning.
i think the reply was something on the lines that the item was a representation of something in the mission that shouldn't have been offered as a reward.
Long story short, the GM basically said that the game has bugs and this was one of them.
i swear i didn't see the item offered in beta though when i got that mission and it would have been great to have the mission reset or the other rewards offered to me, but that would have been too much to ask :p

It's an invisible object you are always supposed to get that causes NPCs that you are near to say stuff about how you beat Menton. Everybody is supposed to get it, it is a bug on the reward tables, I'm basically having to split them off and encapsulate them in another reward table then wrap another one around the two tables. Not the most exciting bug to fix, but it should resolve the problem.

Ahhh so basically when the NPC goes to say something you all use those invis items to determine the possible value of what the NPC will say based on what has been completed by that charachter. Although i guess you could also use the perk thats awarded for that but based on the database structure the item might be easier.

I took this item too out of curiosity.
Is there any way we can be reset to take another reward or are those of us that got it before it was fixed just SOL?

Does this mean anyone who actually "Choose" that item as a reward have essentially lost out on an item?
I thought the "?" item was special, so I picked it,... I could have used one of the other "Rare" items :(

Same here. I thought it might be a surprise item.
Hm, ok, in a way, this is a surprise, although not of the sort I envisioned. Looks like we lost out.

Can't say I didn't do the same because I did.. in the prison. It's not a mistake I repeated and it's a moot point now but alas. :)

I took it thinking it could be an action figure.

thanks for the insight. btw, would it be too much against the design to make the mission repeatable? it would make it easier to find groups (everybody gets a reward everytime they go in) and people who took the invisible item can get another one.

To take the opposite tack, does this mean that if you do NOT take this item NPCs will never remark on you defeating that villain?
I'd rather have some immersion than an Item that I'll outlevel long before endgame.

DOH! i ran this last night. solo... and it took a while. i too chose the "?" figuring it was something really special. i double clicked it into oblivion and was left feeling the "?".
is there any way to track who has taken the "?" and offer them... idk, something? or... is it repeatable maybe?

this event reminds me of trading it all for "what's in the box".

I picked this reward too thinking it was an action figure. I hope we will get something to replace it?

I too picked this thinking it was some kind of unlock reward, then thought it had some kind of database error in which I think I deleted it =(

No error War, you probably activated it, which made it move itself to the invisible bag where it is supposed to live.

And this is why the company is called CRYPTIC.
Please done expect straight answers out of them.
I too clicked the "?" and had it disappeared.

Well its an error in that we shouldn' t have been able to choose this in the first place. Really sucks to miss out on a reward for such a big mission, but oh well.

Would be nice if we could get some sort of compensation. That blue item was really nice, I just thought the ? was a pet :p
