View Full Version : Flight no longer working correctly.

I have two characters that have the Flight travel power. One is level 18 and the Flight power works just fine. However, I have a level 12 with Flight power that it seems to be bugged. I will charge up the power so I start at the higher speed and that starts off fine. I will accelerate to max speed after a few seconds. Then, after traveling for maybe 15 seconds or so the speed reverts to the slowest speed. I then can rebuild the speed but it then will revert to the slowest again. I have tested this at high altitude so as to make sure I am not being attacked and it still reverts to slowest speed. Not only is this annoying (since I know it should work like on my 18), this makes the game unplayable.

Ok, I have just been testing this. What I did was went to the powerhouse and changed my build. I removed my "Focus of the Unconquered Swordsman" slotted passive damage buff from the 2nd build. I everything esle was the same. 2nd build is now active. I turn on Flight and it works as it does on my level 18. I fly around a while and no problems. I go outside with build 2 still active. Turnoff Flight and fly around for several minutes...NO problems. I land, change to build 1 (with the Focus of the Unconquered Swordsman slotted). I charge up the Flight power and from the get go I am moving slow. I build up speed only to be dropped done to basic hover. I switch back to build 2, NO problems....Flight works fine. Bottom line.....the slotted passive "Focus of the Unconquered Swordsman" is bugging FLIGHT.
Btw, I can not play properly without that buff but I can't play at all without a travel power.

Same thing happens with Evocarti's Fire Blades, keeps slowing me down. Flight works fine with it unslotted.

Stormbolts also causes a slow down in flight.

I'm having the same trouble with Earth Flight. I charge up flight to have it at full speed then it drops down to level 1 speed. If I keep flying it builds back up to level two then drops back to level one repeatedly. And now that you mention it, I believe it happened when I had bumped to level 2 Focus of the Unconquered Swordsman.

My best guess on this is that the recharge time on your passive buff is oh I'd have to ball park around every 20-30 seconds giving you just enough time to reach max flight speed then when it "recharges" it places you in 'combat' because you 'casted' a buff thus dropping your flight speed down to it's lowest setting. Alota the stuff like this is kinda buggy atm and needs to be worked on another example being the random dmg received from 'falling' to the ground' while using super jump. Apparently super jump doesn't take into account 'what goes up, must come down'

I did notice I had pretty slow flight speed, but I thought it was normal. Now I know what to do. thanks

I'm having exactly this same problem with Acrobatics and Lightning Focus; Acrobatics moves very slowly (around normal run speed) when I have Lightning Focus slotted, but returns to its usual speed as soon as I remove Lightning Focus from my build.

Anyone who has been having slowed travel powers and has not yet done so, please test it by removing you slotted passive powers in a second build. Test it both slotted and unslotted and do it a couple of times to confirm. Then post back here. Here's hoping a Dev is watching this thread. :)

Acrobatics turns off a ton for me with LR slotted. I always just assumed mobs were hitting me with anti-travel power skills, but this makes me question. I'm... level 15? maybe 16 now. Would have to log in to check.

I confirm this bug, acrobatics and swinging are slowed by having focus of the unleashed tempest slotted in passive. hope this does get fixed soon

I just want to commend your troubleshooting. I'm not having this problem yet, but at least I know what it will be when it happens.
Thanks!

Acrobatics seems seriously broken right now
Gets knocked out of travel mode very fast and is downright dangerous if not careful. Even large groups of gray mobs can pound you to death if you land in middle of them and lose travel power/momentum
I like the concept and it aligns well with my character - but I clearly make things complicated for anyone who I am teaming with when they can fly over to zone and I need to leap/dodge/shoot my way out of trouble when I keep getting knocked out of travel mode.
Not whining - it is early days . I dont expect to be totally untouchable in this mode - but it does seem too "fragile" right now.

Confirmed for my superjump...

I can also confirm this with fire flight and Focus of the Unleashed Tempest. If I remove the passive from my second build and switch to that build I can fly just fine. My roommate has Fiery Form as his passive and does not have this issue with flight.

Ditto for the basic Flight power. This makes travelling from area to area long, tedious and dull - and they don't even provide in-flight movies!

I guess we can confirm that this is causing problems. I hope some Dev somewhere is looking at this thread. I hope it is fixed sooner then later as I have had to basically shelf this character till fixed.
