Lots o' text to follow. (Hey! I'm at work, what else can I do?) :P

also: I am not an expert! I am not telling people L2P, these are just my ramblings about team-pvp.

I am a hardcore PvE type, but since Closed beta, I have been going crazy with the PvP to see how it plays out . I have played in a team on vent and I have played in pugs that got organized and pugs that did not communicate at all. Man! they are 100% different play experiences more than any other MMO pvp that I have seen (but, you all knew that).

I watch people in the game and on the forums always screaming about one thing or another. here are some examples and my impressions of them.

-nerf teleport! I find myself thinking this from time to time, but I don't agree that it should be. My team, will time the lockdown of the porter as best they can and focus them to death when they think the porter is going to flee. Of course they will get away some times, but that is how it should be. So, Don't nerf teleport. Also, if they tp away to hide and lick thier wounds... they sure aren't helping with anything. When they come back, focus 'em for a few seconds and they just run away again and have been simply elimated from having too much impact.

-nerf flight! I can see the frustration of some players (read : pure melee) about movement powers, but that is the choices you make really. If you don't take a ranged power, or use items that detoggle, or use teamates to root and hold or one of many many options (had a sorcerer on the other theam do some area effect snare in the middle of the ring the other day and it was hard as heck to move anywhere: kudos to that toon.. great teamwork) then you are missing the point of team matches and PvP. Every build will not be the equal of every other. If you think a certain power doesn't fit a theme, then you can choose to find a way to make it or a similar power fit your theme, or live with the fact that you will have to rely on teams to make it work.

-Nerf shotgun spammers! This one cracks me up. Shotty is weak as heck and only is really useful for the knockback , which it does not do all the time. I have used a shotty, but it was only for knocking down the runners and spamming into healing drones to nullify them. It is a one trick pony really and sucks for trying to kill much of anything. With the amout of force users and other KBers out there, shotty is just pathetic really. I just liked to KB the guys that are getting low on health as they try to turn and fly off or run etc. Then team can fire 'em down.

-Nerf block powers! Block is one of the really innovative things to add to pvp, you don't NEED one, but they are cool to use from time to time. It is just another weapon in you bag of tricks. If you get focused by a whole team, ... block! let the focus for awhile and your team can pick them off, unless they are smart and remove your ability to block. CC etc. can mess this up, crippling advantage can mess this up etc. "Turtles" can be focused down by a team if they want to do it. But they can also be ignored.... . if they are blocking 24/7 then they aren't accompishing anything (see TPers).

-Nerf CC! too much cc being spammed? It frustrates anyone to be stuck and unable to defend/attack. that is why most builds will add some CC just to level the playing field. CC has immunity timers that "should "keep you from being perma held/rooted. There are also items and clickies that help you get out of these or survive them when you are in them. The CC in this game is useful, but not OP at all IMO.

-Nerf Ice! I am not an Ice player, I tried it out in beta, and just didn't like the graphics. However, I see a ton of ice characters out there now. (kinda FotM I guess?). They are fantastic in a good team, kinda lame without one (i.e. disorganized pug). They can hold and slow etc. and that really can make it hard for you if they have a team, if they are running around with everyone trying to solo people, Ice isn't so grand. The graphics are way too large IMO, but whatever. I don't fear the Ice people any more than any other build.

-Nerf PFF! They are hard to take down at first... then boom you crack thier FF and all of the sudden you get to the soft tender morsels inside the shell. focused and.. done! PFF is very useful, but easy to deal with if you focus them.

-Nerf Regen! Same as above really, just Focus and they drop fairly rapidly.

Ok, I'm running out of time here, but you get the idea. I see alot of people screaming about powers that are OP or unfair in some way and I don't know why, when there is a counter to just about everything (and a way to counter that counter), but most importantly..TEAMS! Teams are the work-around solution to most of these "troubles".

PvP is friggin' fun! Don't freak out if you get your butt kicked.... get better instead. Remember : this is a game, not life and death :) REALLY!

I point fingers at no one.
but The masses whined for more grouping, more nerfing, more balancing to someone elses
ideals, more leveling of the playing, and to make it harder. This is what happens.
Now we wait and see if the Dev's can correct it or worsen it with the change that will
follow todays whining due to the recent changes brought on by past whinning. Its been this
way since closed beta. Why are we so suprised by the outcome of our own complaining?
We all new that Cryptic swings the nerf bat with a heavy hand and I personally am not
suprised by this at all.

It's obvious you didn't read the OP at all, cause there was no whining in it at all...as a matter of fact your entire post is irrelevent.

Agree with pretty much everything the OP mentioned.

Cheers
