Cost is off the charts and promotes gold farmers to join the game.
Besides that why can I only go so far back when respecing? Am I missing something? Or is it suppose to like that? I have a lvl 19 toon now and it seems I can only remove some of the powers... I havn't been able to test it.... cause i dont have over 20gold to blow yet...

Yeah, I'm a little terrified by what's going to happen once they start "adjusting" powers.

The reason I bring his up is because with people able to build the way this game allows it's gonna take lots and lots of testing to find out what works and what doesn't.
The game seems to move fairly quick to around 15ish before you stop dinging levels back to back.

So far I just built a dual blade toon and she does great in pve most times, but in pvp is just a sitting duck equiped withed nerf bats. My bad for trying to stay true to the talent tree. I cant see my self getting the money to try respecs anytime soon. At the current rate I think I could get 2-3 more toons to level 19 before I farmed up 20+gold on the current toon.

Yeah this game definately needs to rethink the respecing. Have a mission or something you can do to earn a respec at the very least. CoH had that and it made respecing fun and part of the story.

The cost needs to go down.

And maybe be able to respec it all. Don't know if that works yet, somewhere i read that it only remembers the last 10 changes.

You cannot provide full respecs due to the custom frameworks.

It allows you to hit lvl 40 and then completely redo your character, from looks to abilities when you feel like it.
This is pretty game breaking and doesn't promote re playability which is a really bad business decision if they let you respec completely.

If you can't figure out whether an ability fits your build or not within 10 levels, you're doing something wrong.

They definatly need to reduce the costs though, that I can wholeheartedly agree.

Not when you feel like it, if the costs get insanely high for something larger than 10 abilities, it would still give you the possibility to change powers. Some people just don't want to create another character. And since we can change costumes, why not be able to change the powersets too?

Because it allows people to simply keep on using the FOTM build without having to put any efforts into it.

You created a hero. That's that. You can't completely change his identity and start from scratch, that's ridiculous. Respecs are put in the game to help players who possibly may have screwed up and found out they didn't like X and Y power. It doesn't take 40 levels to figure out whether or not X force blast or Y fire ball does it for your concept.

The cost needs to be lowered, no questions there. They even admitted to it and it will be modified. Don't expect full respecs though, they won't be happening.

I expect, much like in CoX games, there will be full respecs offered on limited basis such as when major changes are made to powers in a patch. Eventually there may be respec mission added for 1 time full respec but remmber, this was added later in CoH and not available at release as I recall. Also, it was a very tough mission and required a team minimum of 4 players.

Eventually they also opened up test servers to public so you could run test builds there before comitting to a power but with the complexity of builds in Champions I think that is still less effective than the occasional full-respec.
