View Full Version : More a suggestion to the players then the devs

Perhaps with some of these bugs you can provide some sort of ideas on how to fix things.

A perfect example is someone recently posted on the fact that he deleted more characters then he thought he did.

Instead of just complaining that the process was odd or confusing perhaps provide examples of ways to fix the problem.

IE.

Today I ended up deleting two characters beacsue when I went to delete one I didnt see ti dissapear formt the screen. When I went back I saw he was still therre and opted to delete again. this time it ended up delteing two / both characters I had.

Perhaps When selecting the option to delete you should let the person know by telling them the name of the characte they are getting ready to delete.

See not so hard and gives the Devs an Idea where to go so it is not so confusing or "dangerous"

By doing this we help out the devs and provide them guidance in what we want.. and it doesnt seem like we are just complaining to them or telling them to fix something. Try to help out by providing good feedback and not just complaints.

Trust me, with a bug like that the devs will know what they need to do to fix it. That poster's complaint was not that "the process was odd or confusing", it is that it deleted two characters without him confirming two character deletions. This is a software bug that needs to be fixed in the server and/or client so that it will properly confirm all deletion requests and make sure they have been validly requested by the player before carrying them out.

With more subtle problems that are not actually bugs but just design issues, I agree with you. For example, it is difficult to tell when you are out of range to use a power. Players have offered as a potential solution having the power buttons gray out or change color when out of range.

Actually he DID actualyl DELETE two separate characters in the case I'm talking about.. A BUG instance would be he only selected once and typed "DELETE" once and both vanished.

In his case he actully selcted twice and entered DELETE twice. The second time if there had been something that provided the name of the character he was deleteing the second time. there would have been no problem he could have cancled and went back. THe fact of LAG caused him to think the character was still there so he selected again only this time the character that ended up selected was the one he wanted to keep.

I know the scenario you are talking about but this is not that case.
