Unless I'm doing something wrong, it doesn't appear to be possible to aim your emotes towards a target. I'm not much of a RP but I do want my emotes, such as wave or thank, to be aimed at the correct party and not just to everyone in the area.
This was a pet peeve of mine in Guild Wars and it's a tad disappointing to find it here.

So frustarating not to be able to wave at someone or thank someone :(

Right its keyed to your toons facing.. and right now everyone sees it.. with audio components for some they also hear it..

When you face the masses and wave at your friend within, the masses believe you wave at them no matter your intentions. :p
Yes it'd be nice. In the meantime expend the .034 calories it takes to type ';wave' followed by ';waves to Cheesemaster' to let everyone know you aren't making friendly with them.

also Hars, typing the emote removes the animation from my experience. It would be cool if we could use the animations silently, or just target people for them

Is there a list of emotes that are available? I haven't randomly tried very many, but so far have been met with "unknown command" ... :-\

I'm not sure if there are any "hidden" ones, but to see a list click on the chat balloon icon at the bottom right of the chat window.

For those wanting to sit their character down...
Try the Meditate Emote. (Cross-Legged sit on floor).
I too, wish to be added to those requesting an "Emote Target" feature be implemented. Just not before you fix the "Have to rebind my keys every time I log in or switch zones" bug that is driving me batty. :mad:
