How do you target Team mates with the 360 controller?

I love the 360 controller and Champions online, my only problem is how do I target a team mate to cast a heal? I have to use the keyboard which adds an extra second or two to my heals. I don't want to lose a buddy due to my mistake.

So any idea how to target a team mate or yourself?

I have no idea. What usually happens to me is I get caught in a hold, and press UP and Down to get out of it, somehow I manage to switch my targetting to friendly only, and even switch builds.

you can switch between friendly and hostile targeting by pressing right trigger + right bumper. keep in mind, this is modal so you will not be able to target hostile mobs again until you switch modes by pressing RT+RB.

Also, friendly targeting is not limited to teammates, meaning if there are friendly NPCs or other players around you'll have to cycle through them as well. you may want to change your tab targeting setting to select the target closest to camera center and nearest to you. with some practice you'll probably have more luck getting the right target the first time using this setting.

one more thought. I believe there is a setting, not sure what it's called, that will heal your targets target. this may be worth looking into.

I'm not even sure its an option, I think its just the way it is. My wife was having a hell of a time with healing herself for awhile and I finally figured out that by default it was healing her targets target and she had to clear her target first.
At first I had mapped her select (back) button to clear target but then I discovered that tapping both bumpers at once clears the target as well.


Since we always pair together when she plays her telepath i've mad it easier for her to heal me by mapping the select button to target team mate 1

/bind select "TargetTeammate 1" or something like that. You can hover over the function in the keybinding UI and see the actual text name.

/bind start binds the start button so you can easily set it up for 2 team mates. beyond that and your kind of screwed.

oh no it's an option you can turn on and off. i know this because i was getting ****ed by the fact that my heals never landed on me when i need them. :) it's under the controls tab in the options window.
