Rivalry for the Relic quest

Just a little confused here.

I killed the mobs surrounding the dead buyer - checked the body - suggests that someone beat me to the relic. But... where do I find him? Believe the message says that he headed EAst and that I still had time to get him, but he wasn't in sight and there is no further mission info on the quest nor any funky green circles :(

I read the message pretty fast because I aggro'd a couple fire demons near the body - did I miss something?

Anyone done the quest that can offer some guidance?

thats around lvl14 mission? if so then the location on the mab is at the icon of purple hat or whatever its signifies.. just zoom in abit

The mission dialog makes it sound like the person you're looking for should be near the body, when really your next target is a good distance away.

Check NW of the Ren Center on your map for a small mission circle. You'll find your target there along with some demon guardians.

I put a bug ticket in (even though this isn't really a bug) for this because of so many people asking where it was. The only way I found it was to make the mission active and then zoom on the "Purple Gang" icon.

But this is probably a question that will be asked A LOT during the initial release for those who don't know about it. My best bet would be to help someone out when they ask ingame and make sure they pay it forward.

I was having trouble with this also. The body indicates that the buyer is southeast from the corpse and if you hurry then you might catch up to him so I ended up killing everything for at least two blocks heading southeast. Not a total loss as I found I liked fighting the martial arts clan and that other gang past them (don't remember what they are called) had a few good drops.

Good thing I didn't drop the quest like I almost did.

Yeah you have to realize that in M. City nearby means All the way across the freaking Map!

Average patrol mission:

You are near Mind Inc. A person comes up to you and dialog starts:Hey Superhero! I saw a bunch of guys enter that warehouse across the street/nearby! Can you help?"

Look on map for warehouse and it is all the way in the lower South West Corner of map!

Relic Quest : the person who stole the map was just here and headed in SE direction, if you hurry you can catch them.

you find them 1/2 a Map away.

Where/how does that quest actually start? It sounded like a quest started from an item, but I didn't get anything that might start it. Maybe I'm fighting the wrong mobs or in the wrong area? Or there's an NPC who starts it?

Random drop from one of those Big Trouble in Little China guys, or you could get it by finding the body of one of those guys, whose guts are being ripped out by a Succy, who wants to read his entrails to tell the future.

I got it eventually. After a few days of smiting mobs with no success, I gave up. Then a random mob attacked me while I was exploring and dropped it.

That's a good point, I will have to make sure we add what factions are dropping mission items.

Fantastic advice ... been searching for like minutes :D

Oh and where is my mission arrow? grr ;)
