Is it me or is it impossible to defeat that Eel boss at level 12 solo? As much as I block everything he gives me, those yellow rays are killer. Keep in mind I have Bolts for energy.

It's not impossible. However, without knowing a bit more about your power choices, it's hard to tell why you don't succeed. Could you elaborate a bit?

I first throw a barrel at him then throw some bolts(rank 2) as I approch him, to get my energy topped. I whip out condem(rank 2) which dosen't stun him but takes about an 1/8th of his health. I keep slashing him with my ego weapon(rank 1) while blocking his attacks. Then I repeat the cycle but I can only block his attacks for so long. The best I've done was get to 1/4 of his health.

Do you have a passive defense slotted like Regen, Invulnerability, or Personal Force Field?

No, I have supernatural power to help my energy stable to keep slashing him. Haha sorry man, I'm pretty new to these type of games. I wanna try to stay on course with the build I made with the Builder program. I plan to pick up Telekinetic Shield at 14 so I can probably grind it a bit.

No problem. Passive Defenses are huge in this game, almost to the point where you are expected to have them. I'm sure that there are ways to succeed despite not having a slotted defense passive, but it'll be difficult. Personal Force Field absorbs most incoming damage, invulnerability reduces the damage you take, regeneration heals you up really fast (so just block and you'll regen to full), and I think there is one more I'm forgetting.

There are two more: Lightning Reflexes gives you a large dodge buff, and Defiance provides a resistance buff that increases as you get hit.

They aren't required for solo play, but they do make your life easier, especially as a new player. Slotted passives are very powerful.
