It would be great for those Telekinesis users who don't want to go down the route of ego blades to have at least one more non-melee Telekinesis power open up at tier 1. Perhaps Telekinetic Eruption or Telekinetic Wave. Or even Ego Hold.

At the moment the tier 1 power choices are very limited, and if you don't want the blades and you take a power from another framework, then tier 2 gets pushed back all the way to level 17.

Why would you use primarily Telekinesis if you weren't going to use the blades....?

Flavor? Because you want to have telekinetic abilities, but want to do other stuff with it?

Why would you even ask such a question in a game like this which is all about flexibility and customisation?

But to answer your question anyway: because I want to use 'telekinesis' powers, like lifting, pushing, throwing stuff, not 'ego' powers like manifesting energy blades.

This paradigm that you have to have a ranged power-generating ability is the issue, outside of taking just force bolts or the equivalent, you don't have a lot of choice. Having played real Champions, the ability to build your concept is kind of hard to shake, to make an MMO with all kinds of different players just forces a structure on everyone. Some way to just grab an enemy and thrash him around would have made so much more sense, that way you don't have to worry about having objects on hand to toss, speed of clicking etc. I expect most hard-core TK'ers are going to have to just eat having a ranged strike of some sort on their first tier.
