View Full Version : tractor beam vs iron lariat as a means of pulling stuff

So I'm using iron lariat since it is availible sooner...is there reason I'd get tractor beam? The cooldown is such that I dont see myself needing two of these, especially since tractor beam has a 30 second cooldown. What makes tractor beam so great?

All I need here is the grip effect.

edit: does tractor beam keep them chained next to you?

Tractor beam is a maintain, you hold it down to slowly suck them towards you. I'm actually not sure if you are held while being tractor'd, I've had it used on me so few times that I never thought to check.

Even if it doesn't, there's still some value in forcing players to stay in one place for a good few seconds.

You cannot do anything while being pulled by the tractor beam.

No I'm pretty sure it doesn't.

I believe Iron Lariat does some form of KB, be it KU or KD. That's why it gets my vote.

Iron Lariat is a Knockdown/towards with a decent amount of damage and an advantage that adds a charge for triple damage and a DOT.

Tractor beam (at least in Beta, don't know if it's changed) is a pull effect with no damage and an absurdly high energy cost.

My vote goes to Lariat.
