View Full Version : Power Recharge/Cool Down

So.. I just noticed this and I'm not sure what to think about it really.

Basically, I have a power/device. I use this power/device. The power/device lasts for say 5 minutes and has a recharge of 30 minutes.

I play about 3 minutes and log out. I wait 45 minutes and log back in. The effect of the power/device that I have used is worn off. Gone. The 2 minutes which were left expiring while I was out of game. Okay. BUT, the power/device itself still has another 27 minutes until it's rercharged?! So basically, the recharge or cooldown of a power is based on ingame time while the effect of the power is not?

Can someone please explain that to me because.. that seems... very unfair. Either they should both expire while out of the game, or both be based on in-game time.

Well the Device/Power in question was that of the "Feline Metabolic Serum" it only has a 2 second duration (I think? It's hard to read the descriptions sometimes) and a 30 minute recharge. The duration of it was used in game, while I was in game - but when I logged out for a while and logged back in - the thing still had the same 27 minute recharge timer that it did when I logged out.

At the same time, I had also used my Talisman of Coldshield. No Recharge time, but a duration of 30 minutes. When I had logged in the effects had worn off, although I only had been in game for maybe 5 - 10 minutes after using it.

As sort of a test, I did an ability with a small recharge and logged out instantly. This was Iron Cyclone. Doesn't need a target and has a 10 second recharge. So I used it. Logged out with 8 seconds on the timer. Waited 5 minutes and logged back in. It still had 8 seconds on the timer.

So it seems to me, that recharge/cooldowns are based on in-game time. While effects and durations just flat time based. I don't understand why this would be.
