You just got a heal, and you want to see how well it heals you. To do so, you go to the laser room, get yourself blasted by a laser and then... but wait, your not in combat, so automatic regen kicks in and you cannot get a good feel to how much it accually heals. your only option is to use the lasers to beat you within an inch of life, the rush to one of the other rooms where there are dummies and attack one of them to stop the regen, and unless you have TP as your travel power, your going to regen most of your health before you get there...
You just took a power or advantage that procs when the target attacks or charges a power. The lasers are not enemies, so it doesn't affect them. The dummies don't attack at all, so they are no good...
You can now disable travel powers. Nice, but what is there in the powerhouse that uses a travel power?
You could duel other players, but how many people have the patience and the willingness to follow your instructions as you try and test out the power in question?
In Beta, you could queue up for PvP inside the Powerhouse, helping out in most of these situations, but now, and for the better, you cannot, so we are back at the powerhouse, with no ideal means to test out a power which we can only truly see the full capabilities of if we were in combat with an opponent that fights back.
The Powerhouse could use a room, or part of an existing room, or a mini-instance, where a player can fight test dummies who fight back, test dummies who fight each other, test dummies who use big, mostly harmless charges and holds, and test dummies who fly, or swing, or dash around with a travel power. It could really help for people who want to test a power that can't be tested with static dummies or lasers that are not targets without having to go into long, detailed discriptions with a willing test subject before a duel where the plan may or may not be followed.
