View Full Version : Costuming Problem. Gals not allowed to look like gals

If I want to make an interesting female heroine, I'm severely limited. There are no strapless options.
Oh sure, Under chest wear there is the strapless bustier...but its a lie I say! I cannot get rid of the bikini top, so I have straps one way or another. Its not like the bustier shows anything, there isn't a hint of cleavage.

Is Wonder Woman a forbidden archetype in CO?

Where are the belly tees? the bare midriffs? Is Cryptic afraid of being to...sexy?
Seriously the bikini tops are nor sexy. Modern fashions are far worse than Cryptic options. Have your artists never been to a mall?

No one is asking for Victoria's Secret, but the gals in Millennium City are pretty limited.

This. Their available options aren't going all the way to the Puritans, but I think someone hit the family values button a little TOO hard here.

Where's the daring and sexy for the ladies?

While you're at it, please tune the female toon's running animation. I mean, it really looks awkward.

There definetly needs to be more "sexier" female tops. CoH/CoV had a ton of options and none went too overboard. Haven't anyone in Cryptic read any Comic Books lately? Heck, go back to when Jean Grey would only wear 1 Phoenix symbol over both breasts. Or the skimpyness of Emma Frosts X-Men outfit. How about Super Girls top and mini-skirt or a Starfire outfit. There's no metal like Witchblade either. :( There's so many cool bare skin outfits in the comic world yet we are limited to 3 bikini type tops, a tank top and a low cut(which is about the only one my females wear). We don't need 10 bikini tops with Tatoos either. Tatoos should be a seperate option to add, rather then the way they are now.

I miss my Halter top from CoH, or Bustier, or Straps, or Metal... So many more that could be added. But, I guess Champions is more parent friendly this way and most Super Heros wear Spandex or wear normal clothes. No beach wear allowed.

I hope they add new outfits for females soon. Males have a ton more options available then females do.

I agree, too.

Also, I tried to make female monkey toon to go with my husband's but there isn't an option to that either.

I don't understand why males get tons more options than female.

yeah, it's weird because on one hand, the figures of the females have large breasts (objectively speaking) even when set to the smallest size possible, and waist lines are slim and wasp-like even when set to the widest setting possible. yet on the other hand the costume options are convservative as mentioned above... unless you count the knee-highs and fishnet stockings.

costume options on the whole are underwhelming considering this is essentially CoX2. it seemed like CoX had more options. i'm hoping this area of the game evolves and expands.

Sigh. I wonder if the devs are reading the forums like they say they do.

And how come you can't wear a tank top with the robot arms! Cyborgs can't show skin??

EQUAL RIGHTS FOR CYBORGS :(

The bikinis with tats threw me. I have seen exactly ZERO in game. They are not done attractively.
1) we need more female tops. with and without straps. Seriously, Wearing a bikini top under a strapless bustier?
2) This isn't that difficult. Its something you can fix in an early patch.
3) Rip-Wire is right, Men have waay more options that women.
4) If the Devs are reading suggestions, please sign on the thread and acknowledge it has been read. You don't have to agree or disagree, just let us know our input is being read.
5) Thank you in advance.

Sadly I think this is a marketing thingy. Money talks.

If you look at The Sims, what kind of skins and clothes do you think people download the most? Yeah, the female ones.

I have no doubt that there will be some serious hawt looking female gear in the C Shop.

I discovered the strap problem when I tried to make a Tinkerbell-like costume. If it's not too sexy for Disney it's not too sexy for Champions. A strapless bra is really needed and if the super hussies wear them who cares? They're already wearing peach bikinis, it's not that big a difference!

You know I have to agree I think we might wanta be careful on what we want, they'll more then likely charge us for "cosmetic" options such as this.

Suddenly, I'm very worried o.0

"Our developtment team has strived to give you class A content and while we can appreciate your need to customize your avatar further past our team's already extensive work, we have no plans to extend at this point. However, if you wish to customize your experiance in Champions Online as far as your avatar goes, please stop by our store and us Jack Bucks. :)" (or whatever they call them >.> Emmertian? The Roperial? :P )

Course..maybe I'm thinking too much.. >.>

(You know, if that doens't pull a dev out I don't know what will :P )

As well as needing a strapless bra for underneath the strapless bustier, the back of the bra needs to be lower than the back of the bustier.

And we need better shoes - particularly with the long skirt option. There are only a couple of normal shoes available and they're all really ugly and not really shoes - they're more of a cross between a shoe and a boot.

I haven't tried to make a male toon; maybe I should. I figured this problem was across the board. Female toons are sadly lacking in options for tops and bottoms with skin and there aren't too many patterns for non-skin either. As for the tatoos... YUCK! Why do we have a zillion options for bikini tops with tatoos? They're not even small, modest tatoos; they're all big disgusting things.

But this is launch and there are a lot of options overall, so I'm not complaining. I do hope they improve matters with the first update, though.

Well, if you pay attention to dev posts, they've already said that they don't expect to reply much here in the suggestions forum. This is more a reading ground for getting a feel for what we want than a location for dialogue.
