Can anyone explain to me why I would want the Wrist Bolter advantage "Automated Assault"?
Why would I want my Wrist Bolter to take up my hand slot damage when it still does not generate energy when other powers are active?
Or is it because it cost no Endurance, so it's free Hand Slot damage (however small that may be) on top of whatever Shoulder and Chest attacks you happen to be doing?

Free damage.
The reason you don't want it is because it still applies an energy discount penalty (i.e. it increases energy costs). Unfortunate, because it'd be quite useful as free damage otherwise.
Also, it doesn't "take up" the slot. It used to, but now it politely allows you to activate whatever you want over it.

Right Power Armour Framework has that advantage of using multiple weapons at the same time if you have enough power stored you can fire three attacks at the same time..
You will see this best when you get the Targeting computer it will paint the targets with a Target Reticle
or Bulls-eye.. So you can TAB and fire at more then one target with different weapons or all at the same one.
Its a Good Alpha Strike FrameWork.. but you need the Wrist Blotter for a END Builder when the Mini Gun or other weapons are cooling down.. problem with it is many times the enemy gets in real close and its borky to lock on them.. This is where the Laser Sword is really priceless in a Mob critter fight..

Ok thanks.
Another related question, kind of.
What is the best energy generating ability? Are there certain ranged energy generating abilities that have a better energy return than others? If I could make it fit with the theme of my character, I would want to have the best energy regen ability I could get.

Nope, they seem pretty equal now.

Sure to answer part of that question its goes to getting Gear and boosting the stats for END and INT
INT helps lower Energy cost and shorten cooldown times.. END gives you more i n the Power bar..
Higher Top end for storage So you can fire off your best attacks Holding in the button to max them out.
I always have at least one PA framework in my Toons list for fun..

Well, I hear that the Sonic Blaster from Gadgeteering can deal AoE damage with a certain advantage, thus reaping energy from multiple foes at once. I don't know if that still works, though. You'd have to test it.

I tested it fairly recently. It used to proc an extra tick of energy on the first pulse if I was not mistaken.
Now, however, it regens at the same rate as anything else, I believe. Only used the eye test to determine this, though.

From what I've experienced, it's nice because it's extra damage while running the other slots, and when you aren't using them, it's right back to earning you energy. I don't believe it costs any endurance to use either. I'm still fooling with it myself, but I also put the chance to regen endurance on the weapon, so either way for me it's a nice attack.

The sonic blaster doesn't gain multiple energy ticks, that being said though, free AoE cone damage, with the HUGE cone that sonic blaster amounts to, is fairly fun, and was the only damage my Gadgeteer toon had when I was finally able to spec out of the stupid experimental blaster. Frankly, any charge attack, is taking time away from my awesome energy builder, and since she's a pet-spammer, there's little need for anything else.
Wrist bolter as a power is underwhelming though. It uses a wrist slot, so should therefore be usable while using a hand, chest, and shoulder slot weapon. (And head, why eye beam was moved from head to shoulder, I don't know.) Instead, we now have hand, shoulders, chest. For an invulnerability build like mine, I'm limited to shoulders and chest, because the hand slots are charge powers. I have to check later, if concussor beam actually works while firing eye beam and micro munitions, if not, then I've got my two attacks for the rest of the game, and may as well go pets/buffs/non slotted passive abilities for the rest of my powers.
I'll probably try an alternate route power armor character at a later date, with more focus on using all the power armor abilities for DPS, with an int/end build, but the current str/con build to take advantage of invulnerability looks like I'm going to be a large brick wall, slowly slamming through enemies. It makes sense actually.

Wrist Boltter + Accelerated Metabolism = MicroMunitons happy fun time.
Don't need to say anything more.
