Trying to decide whether I shoudl go the dex/ego route, or make Constitution a sueprstat instead, dealing less damage but having more hit poiints myself. Having never had the chance to try high levle PvP for myself yet, I turn to the forum for advice!

I have yet to see dex/ego actually work aside from very specific low-energy spammable skills. The problem with it is that you turn yourself into this specialized hero that still only does maybe 20% more damage factoring in the crits , and generally only with skills that dont do much damage to start with. To be fair you're not missing that much hp, less than 1000 really...the main problem is the energy pool.
I'd still rather go with end/rec and burn a guy down with your larger pool, or str/con if you insist on being melee.

Riddle me this. If you didnt choose Con as a superstat, would you still slot the same amount of Con in your gear? I wouldn't.
People tend to focus more on their superstats when it comes to gear than the other stats, i know i personally do. You need to look outside of just the 80 Con from the superstat to realise just how much HP you gain as i'm sure someone with Con as a superstat will have significantly higher HP than someone without it in most cases. Unless people choosing say dex/ego for example decide to focus on Con in their gear instead of one of the superstat they've chosen. In which case yes the HP difference would only be around 800, but their damage would then be a fair bit less as well.

I actually used my super stats for things that I didn't plan on gearing for. My super stats or for my Con/Int/Pres, and my gear is gonna be built for Dex/Ego.
If you wanna do a specialy build then yea you can focus superstats and gear in the same areas, but you can still specialize a build without pigeon holing yourself in that manner.

That was sor tof my thinking as well. The extra 85 pioits from it actuallyu being a sueprstat shake out to, I thin, soething in the area of 900 extra hit points, but the total amount of +con from gear I expect to be rather higher.
I made the decision to go with Con, ultimately, for reasons one of the earlier responders said as well. Trying to worry about End (for Ice Form), and Dex, and Ego, AND Rec, AND Con all at once is severla stats too many to be effective. No, End and Con are my Superstats, with Rec as the third one that I'm looking for gear to grant it as a secondary bonus and its working much better. Lord knows, level 10 UTC matches are not the greatest baromiter of long-term performance, but I certainy was doing much, much better there with no significant alteration in tactics

Are you not concerned that, since your superstats ar ethe one sthat dd directly to damage, you will end up doing LESS damage, despite your higher crit chance and percentage, with this plan?

Not on this character, dmg isn't a primary concern which is why I went with it. I have Pres in super stats cause I'm a disruption/heal/CC toon. Taking out drones casting mezzez and healing don't require high dmg. I have high con so it boosts my regen, since regen is based on your total HP. With high dex/ego in my gear I'm able to produce a higher crit chance causing my heals to crit. Since I use a lot of HoT every tick does a roll to crit so I actually produce a Higher HPS than building differently.
This is my experience though YMMV.

I was under the impression that regen wasn't affect by anything other than crits. Although some people's milage does seem to vary.
I don't use the skill so only going off what ive read.

You are correct in that regen is only affected by crits, but it's Mathematical in it's base not anykind of Boost from stats. Regen is equal to a % of your HP. So logically the more HP you have the higher Regen will heal for...at least that's how I understood it. I could be wrong.
