I haven't really been keeping track, but I'm going to start now and 40 seems like a good number to start with.

This is the third thread I've posted asking for help with my crashes. My first thread was just ignored - not a single person even bothered to help me. My second thread got 4 posts, and it wasn't even Cryptic - it was random people who also have crashes and recommended some fixes that unfortunately didn't work.

Instead of consolidating every crash report you get into one thread, which may or may not be about my specific problem (the crashing at load screen is NOT my issue), you seriously need to sit down and help troubleshoot people individually. That's how it works. I have not once seen dozens of different problems fixed with just one single solution.

So, here is my issue: I crash ALL the time. Sometimes within 10-15 minutes, sometimes within 5. Sometimes I can play for way longer and not crash (usually the first hour or so after creating a new character). Once I get to the second half of the desert though, it completely changes. There is no warning, no rhyme or reason - it just crashes. My video drivers are up to date, windows should automatically be getting any fixes that are available (I saw these two recommendations in another thread). My videocard is not overclocked or overheating. I've posted my dxdiag, but I'll do it again.

For god sake, help me and I promise I'll be thankful for it.

same thing with me, there seems to be a SERIOUS problem with texture.hogg.


Also, now i can't get in gamne with a character because of a reoccurring crash. awesome.

I know the dilemma of texture.hogg It's similar to a re-occuring error in another MMO. Basically what I've had to do is go in, delete it, and let the patcher re-download it. It seems to be getting corrupted.

I'm having the exact same problem. Crashing every one to five to fifteen minutes or so!

The texture.hogg and sound.hogg files are seriously corrupted. They come that way from FIleplanet (according to my WinRAR unzipper, anyway).

As for deleting the texture files and letting the patcher reload them, I'll try that. It might work.

this is my first post ever here i just wanna know will the game work once we have the real copy in our hands? bcuz i ben trying since the 24th n nothing i cant get pass the character creator and wen i do it crashes in the monkey with flaming hands come on crypt give us some feed back brah

55 crashes. I crashed in the middle of a hero arena, logged back in and I'm no longer part of my team and I can't attack anyone - plus, I've already been scored a quit. I can't leave the arena until it's over apparently and my team ends up losing despite the fact that we were ahead by a large margin while I was there. Game ends and I crash again when trying to get out.

And yet, there isn't a single post by Cryptic. This is ridiculous.

Another crash in pvp - another inevitable forced quit/loss. I don't even know why I try anymore. Maybe it's because this game is mildly entertaining when it actually works, it's just to bad I can't even play it.

Having the same issues/similar issue after the last patch.

"Fatal error Corrupt pig file detected.
Texture.lib/terrain/dirt/Desert_dirt_B_ter.Wtex"

A full verification does not fix it apperently or it recorrupts after entering the game after a little while.

Yep this is very frustrating! I am in the same boat, posted a theread and no reply. I have crashed as many times as well. This is pathetic. I readsomewhere they thought it was possiblythe new nvidia drivers and to roll back to 180.25. I did that crashed within 2 minutes of loading in. I love this....

I have had this Problem as well...

I tried calling tech support, nothing really helped except for when i deleted my whole live folder.

After I did that I was able to get past the Qwejibo (the flaming monkey) and into the game only to crash again 15 minutes later. Im currently redownloading the texture hogg, I'll let you know how it works for me!

sorry guys I've tried re-downloading the file and reinstalling many times, but nothing has fixed this issue for me :-(

I just want to play the game, the amount of time i can play is fun, but the constant crashes make me very upset...

Can you guys post your computer stats? I am having this issue also, it just started.

I crashed zoning, now I cant load the game at all.

My hogg_errors file only shows 4 entries and they are all texture.hogg. 4 Entries, 4 crashes, Textures.hogg appears to be the culprit for me.

I'm having a problem like this, theres no real warnings and the game crashs to a fatal error followed by a blue screen, i need help.

Oh yeah and the game was working perfectly a couple of days ago.

You have to delete the hogg files from your installation, then run the launcher again, which should download the file again, it happens because the files are corrupted.

the hogg files are located in the games directory /live/piggs folder.

Wow .. you know that the game has changed a lot in over 2 years, and technical problems from that long ago
are totally different from todays ?

So its really bettter make a new thread where you describe your problem, instead of necroing such an old thread.

Bluescreens are btw. mostly driver problems. NVidia drivers when used together with a SB-XFi are one of the
best bluescreen creators i know for example :rolleyes:
