Get out as in what? Close the game? Leave the zone?

I have to either shut down my computer or somehow manage to close the game but it often won't let me get to that option. It's frozen so I can't get out of the zone and I can't just log out.

I'm experiencing another bug when I try to switch zones:
While on the loading screen, if I get a red message stating "Server not responding", my loading bar will halt, and never again resume moving.
Even if the red message disappears again.
Forcefully terminating the GameClient via task manager and then running the game again fixes the issue sometimes.
I've been trying to enter the desert powerhouse for over 15 minutes already, and still no dice.
[Update:] Finally got the loading bar to not hang on me. Hopefully I'll be able to leave the powerhouse without trouble in a couple of mins :D
[Update 2:] I must have jinxed it. Trying to exit the powerhouse and BAM! loading bar freeze at the last second of loading. Rebooting game now :(

Having a similar problem, but whenever I try to switch zones (Tutorial to Canada, Canada to Millenium City, etc.) it doesn't just freeze -- it crashes.
When I try to load a cutscene, the crash is hard enough to prompt the Cryptic Error bug report tool. It occurs fairly consistently, too.
Perhaps the crash and freeze problems are related?

The title says it all, everytime I go to a new zone for the first time on a character my game freezes and I have to get out somehow.
I get a similar freeze of the game, but so far only when trying to get into instances. Have to alt-tab out and run task manager to kill the game. Restart the game, log into any other character to open ticket to have GM move my character into the main zone.
Attempting to zone into an instanced mission in this condition (appears completely random at this point...have had it occur at least 3 times during open beta, and again tonight) results in the generic loading screen (with the big ape) and the loading bar getting to about 50%. Red message at the top then pops up stating "server not responding" and about 30-60 sec later the message changes to "disconnected from server". :(
Since this bug is affecting multiple players, I'm hoping Cryptic is looking into it. It has to be a time sink for the GMs.

I have the same problem as AzrialM -- the game crashed the moment I tried to leave the Tutorial zone for Canada, or the desert for Millennium City; and crashes each time I try to play one of those characters. I'm now effectively locked out of three of my favorite new creations on account of this.
Any word if a fix is in the pipeline for this?

I will echo this problem as well, except it happens anytime the game needs to play an intro-to-new-zone movie. If I don't alt-tab or move focus before the movie starts, the entire machine freezes and I have to hard reboot,
This did NOT happen in the beta, though. I watched movies and skipped them several times over with no problem. First day of launch it started happening.
This also does not happen with the initial character creation movie (MC disaster opening) but it does happen with new zone movies that aren't "new zones" like the one you get after cleansing the desert or stopping the summoning in canada.

I just wanted to add that this is still going on. I just completed the quest to go from Desert Disaster to the regular desert zone and it locked up while playing the cutscene intro. All I could do was CTRL-ALT-DEL and end task (an improvement, since sometimes I can't even do that and have to cold boot the PC).

Never happened in beta, but since the game wen t live, every few minutes it locks my whole system up, can't even get to task manager. This is very irritating to say the least. Why would it work better in beta. I have cranked all my video settings to the bottom, and it has changed nothing.:

This is happening to my son as well. When he zones from the tutorial to the desert the game crashes and the only thing we can do is reboot (can't start task manager or shut down game).

Lets get some computer specs together for people experiencing the Cut Scene Crash/Freeze so the developers can look into this.
My wife is experiencing this bug and she is running:
AMD Athlon™ 64 processor 3800+ 64-bit processor 2.4GHz
2GB System Memory
Nvidia 9800GT w/ 1GB Memory
Game runs relatively smooth except for this bug.

I am having the same problems. This did not occur during closed beta or open beta. I do not remember having this problem with the head start program. So I am curious as to what is causing this bug.

Also have a character that just happens to be my main toon stuck due to the game crashing going from Canada to Millennium city. Now cant access that character at all. Not much fun

Since game went live, ALWAYS crash on into cutscenes EXCEPT the Tutorial.
I have a feeling this is going to be due to processor speed, most people I talk to who have the same issue are on low end dual or single core processors.

Still crashing about half the time when I enter a new zone.

Stiiil happening.
Is there a way to disable the intro movies perhaps? That'd be a bad way to fix it but at least we all wouldn't have to suffer machine crashes.

I have the exact same issue. All of the zone movies lock me up. I used to have to reboot, but after the launch/first patch I can just spam esc/space at the end of the loading screen then alt-tab out and use Task Manager to close the game and restart. I can play normally from there.
I thought it was because my computer barely meets minimum specs, but apparently not.

Currently game freezes/clips character though ground/disconnects whenever moving to a new zone -or- instance. Never happened until latest patch. Yet, two roommates don't have this problem at all...

I am having the same exact problem when i go to new zones, from Tut to Canda/Desert. I switched from playing fullscreen to Max Window so i can still get to my Task manager in order to ctr/alt/delete and end the program. I am able to log right back in on the character that i froze on and they are always in the new zone.
As somone else stated i have noticed that i do get the Red "Server not responding" mesage while the load screen is loading and it freezes right at the very end of the load bar.

For me I've been crashing with random triggers. Whether its a cut-scene, quest turn in/gather, or even sometimes its just when I activate a power or turn around. It runs perfectly fine with the settings I have, and then just all of a sudden it crashed. Here are the specs for my laptop:
NVIDIA Quadro NVS 135M
Intel Core Duo CPU T7100 @1.80GHz
2G RAM
Running on Windows Vista (Business)
Also, on top of this, my controls and keybindings seem to be resetting every time I zone and log. I originally set them to "Fantasy" but the keybindings would always reset when I logged. I switched to "Champions" and now it resets back to "Fantasy" every time I zone.

I am also experiencing this issue. I put in a ticket as well as added my dxdiag.
I have am AMD Athilon 64 3055+ (2211.4 MHz)
3 MB Ram (DDR)
NVidia GeForce GTS 250 (1GB)
On the positive side, this only happens on Live, and not the Public Test, which means that there is (should be) an up coming "fix" for this....one hopes within the next week or so.
Frustrating.....as I didn't have this issue with closed beta or open beta, only since head-start. My wifes system doesn't get this issue at all.

I'm having the same problem as the op. Maybe something under the options to disable those stupid cut scenes would fix it.

Having the same trouble. Every time I zone out of the tutorial. I’ll try the test server, that is encouraging.

I, too, have the same problem. Ever since I started this game I've had to reboot anytime there's a cutscene. If only I could disable the cutscenes..
I'm glad it ain't just me, though.

Just got the new patch, took a character through the whirlwind tour of the intro instance, went to the desert, and was surprised to actually start seeing the cut scene start playing....I started to get excited, and then half way through.....it froze.
Come on.......what is going on!
This NEVER happened in Beta, only started during the head start. Maybe its the load on the servers?

I too have had this issue. Running on P4 3ghz with 2 GB RAM, gfx 8500 Win XP sp 3.
Freeze right when cut-scene should play zoning for first time. Bugged it with no reply as of yet. If not fixed in next patch, plan to contact customer support. Usually able to ctrl+alt+del and shutdown game client. Wonder if this is only happening to beta users (former beta). Maybe some bad files never updated at launch. Anyone have this freeze or crash on first zoning that was NOT in beta?

Same problem as OP, was in beta, only been an issue since it went live. About half and half as to whether Ctrl-Alt-Del works to bring up task manager. If it doesn't (can see pointer change but window is hidden), have to cold boot. Would really appreciate a fix for this or a work-around from the devs. Currently can't complete Stronghold mission due to cutscene crash in the instance.

I got a message from Tech Support. They said to make sure that your vid card drivers are up to date, and that the most recent patch should have fixed the issue.
I know that on my system (as of yesterday) it seemed to have been fixed. I can't truly confirm this, as the fan on my MB just went belly up. I think one of the bearings died on it. I'm glad I already placed an order to newegg for a new GigaByte MB, new Quadcore i5, and 4GB of ram.

both me and my roommate are having the loading screen crash issue, I brought this up in open beta , right now it is very inconsistent, it will sometimes happen, and usually when it does it will happen several times in a row, my roommate took 9 attempts to log in yesterday, I usually give up and move on to something else after the 4rth. on my end this happens -only- in primary zones, desert,Canada, millennium ,monster isle. it never happens to me zoning into instances or lemuria. but it is always a server not responding message during the loading bar, and its the exact same spot for each specific zone. its unrelated to the cutscene issue, as this is continuous, aside from being inconsistent where zoning will sometimes work into the problem zones, sometimes not, and sometimes a serious problem getting into it. and my video drivers are up to date 190.62 x64 forceware
amd 9550 2.2ghz QC
6 gb system ram
geforce 8800gt 512mb
