View Full Version : Thank You Cryptic For NO Head Start Access

I was a little upset that D2D didn’t have head start access, but I am now glad that I didn’t have access because I have been out of power since Thursday night and a 1000 acre wildfire is bearing down on my house. I just hope I can get back to my house by the 1st. :(

OMG... stay safe! You're not missing much anyway, the action figures from the event scare me. :P

The whole reason I bought the pre-order was to get early access so I could level past the starter areas before the launch.

There will be two tiers of players for a couple weeks due to this. Those mired in lag-ville and those who are enjoying the later content with organized groups.

I'm 100% positive that what the front page for the pre-order said on the main site was that you would get access to the early start if you bought from ANY of the retailers listed below. Then it had all the link graphics in nice little rectangles.

It also said that the pre-order bonuses would be different for each retailer, which they were/are. It did not say anything about early access only being available for EB/gameStop on that front page.

That information came after, and it is so frustrating that the boards are being moderated by nazis that like to close deserting threads and promote fanboi-ism in those bitter with those who raise legitimate complaints.

This only happened due to the open beta fiasco when they realized they would have the same problem with early access. Basically they decided to quarantine the launch to the largest customer base, probably determined from sales figures from gameStop. Though I'd wager the D2D customers were a pretty large percentage. Yet the D2D clients don't have brick and mortar shop to go yell at, so Atari chose the online distributors to shaft.

Anyone who thinks that what has happened was due to customer ineptitude is just ********.

AoC was killed because of a nasty industry war and negative press funded by competing forces. Champions is killing itself with imbecilic behaviors toward perfectly reasonable people who already paid money to a company that apparently only cares about the bottom line in an immediate temporal sense and doesn't care that it just f@cked several years of revenue by being disingenuous to a large consumer base who came to them willingly but who have now become so bitter that they will never say a positive thing about the product.

There is a very simple rule in business. If you make one customer happy they will tell 10 friends. If you make one customer angry they will tell everyone they know.

I did a quest yesterday in MC where I had to put out fires in a building and rescue people.

I sympathize with you.

At first, I thought maybe you were talking about one of the fires near LA, but I see you're in California's Canada.

lol. I guess that makes California Oregon's Mexico. Yeah there are some pretty scary fires down there as well. I was able to come back home today and they got the power back on, so I should be good to go.

Me too. I was surprised I couldn't put the fires out by shooting at them though, that always works in the movies.
