0. Knockback effects and other sorts of horizontal velocity should give a small damage bonus or slightly increased stun duration if the enemy is knocked into a surface and stops abruptly. This should scale with the velocity (so knockback immediately against a wall will be more severe than those further away).

1. Falling damage on NPCs should be implemented. Knocking an enemy off of a cliff should inflict damage. This damage should be potentially lethal for NPCs.
