Figured I would start this thread again so that people don't miss anything.

There are a number of what are called Lore that need to learned to fulfill some of the knowledge requirements. Some of these Lore items can be found outside of missions, in all sorts of places and some of them can be found in missions. There are only a handful of these so far, but I am sure there are more.

Listing of Lore for Knowledge Perks found in missions. (http://www.champions-online-wiki.com/wiki/Pieces_of_Knowledge_Perks_Found_in_Missions)

Listing of Lore for Knowledge Perks found outside missions. (http://www.champions-online-wiki.com/wiki/Pieces_of_Knowledge_Perks_Found_Outside_Missions)

If you find one that's not on the list, please list whats the title, which perk, location, neighborhood and the /loc of it.

I've compiled a pretty comprehensive list of the perks in general up to about the mid 20's. If you find something new, post it here!

Here is a link to the Perks page on the wiki. (http://www.champions-online-wiki.com/wiki/Perks)

I think also, there were a couple of perk related items that people were missing.
1. Mother nature can be a real…from the New Pollution Knowledge Perk in Canada
2. Clean Up the Town - from the Snake Gulch Main Arc
3. Who's the Fastest Gun in the West? - from the Snake Gulch Minor Arc
4. ARGENT Snow Thrush Knowledge Perk (found it once in CB and haven't been able to find it again)
5. Hoarfrost Hills Knowledge Perk
6. City Center Knowledge Perk

Also, for those people interested, here is a mission listing for the first 3 crisis zones:
Millennium City Tutorial (http://www.champions-online-wiki.com/wiki/Millennium_City_Tutorial)
Crisis in Canada! (http://www.champions-online-wiki.com/wiki/Crisis_in_Canada!)
Desert Disaster (http://www.champions-online-wiki.com/wiki/Desert_Disaster)

Yes, let this be the new thread since I really dont want to update my old one :)

Also can we confirm that is it not possible to miss a perk permanently due to being too high level, that is to say you can go back and do whatever it is, at any time later.

This would take a big load off a lot of achievement hunter's shoulders.

Has to do with Hiker's Horror, which may have been disabled. Quest was always a bit buggy, with mobs sinking into the environment mesh, thus not going past their trigger zone resetting the quest so it can be redone.

4. ARGENT Snow Thrush Knowledge Perk (found it once in CB and haven't been able to find it again)

Snowthrush pic (http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v515/IS_Wolf/CO/?action=view&current=screenshot_2009-08-24-06-43-36.jpg). It's near a crashed bus, overlooking the pipeline.

5. Hoarfrost Hills Knowledge Perk

Not 100%, but I think that was this one (http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v515/IS_Wolf/CO/?action=view&current=screenshot_2009-08-13-01-38-06.png). There's a lorebook close to it on a well too.

Like I said in the old thread, feel free to raid my album for the perk pics, just dowload them and reupload them elsewhere.

Only way to miss out on a perk, is if you no longer have access to that zone. So, say you miss the big red bug one in the tutorial, then you're not going to get it ever again. Miss the Grond theft quest and leave the Desert Crisis and been to regular Desert/Canada, then you're SOL as well.

The ones within certain instances, you could always do again by teaming up with folks doing that quest.

I had in both closed and open gone back and done older missions, which was how I got a lot of the info. Don't know if you can still do that.

Here's one that I sttumbled onto in CB but then forgot about:

Secure the Perimeter:
Get inside the corridor along the top of the main wall or Steelhead and walk/fly the length of it. This is easy if you can fly or jump, if not you can run up the cliff next to the wall and get in that way.

Oh, there's another lorebook on the same hill in Canada, as where Raven's speaker astral projection is. It's the same spot as where the portal to Rakshasa's realm was/is.

I've got a pic up for Bloodstone's orders, it's behind the support wall, where the Big Tear is. You can easily walk behind it, and it's also possible to get it without being on that mission. Just fly down to that level, dodge the mobs, get behind the wall and read it.

As for Eclipse's orders. They're located behind the pedestal behind which he's hovering. Kill him, walk around the pedestal and you should easily be able to see it.

Thoughts? Did I screw something up, or is this a bug?

Pretty much, it only awards XP and resources from what I recall, so it shouldn't be that big of a deal to come back at a later point to complete it.

Yes, it's nice to do it right away, when you're in the neighbourhood. But sometimes it just takes a while, during CB, I think I was in my late 20s before I finally completed it, because I managed to find a respawned McCoy and swiftly nuked the mobs around him, thus setting him up for a normal respawn for the next player who came around.

In the PvP cage match, I managed to unlock a perk called 'ceiling cat' by flying around above the cage. I wasn't running away, just, uh, taking a strategic overview. :o

Was in Open Beta, and haven't managed it since, but I played half a dozen matches and spent a bit of time above the cage in most of them. Could be based on a timer, on health when you go up there, or just a specific location on the ceiling above the cage.

I get it on every hero I've made, you basically need to be in the middle of the cage roof. You may need to not be flying. If you're not a hero capable of getting up there, I'd say you're screwed for this perk though.

People, it is possible to get the perks from both crisis zones. Do the desert zone, and after killing Gigaton and moving back to the exit, DO NOT CLICK CONTINUE when it prompts you to start digging. Just close the window and simply walk up the rocks into the vault door and use it to get back into the crisis. Just be careful that pressing Z in that area will put you out of the crisis, so manually click on the button for exiting the vault.

Officially, you can get 2 max. Ferd and either Rak/Giga.

Unofficially, you can do the entirety of both crisis zones including the end missions. Finish the desert zone, then do the ending instance in the vault. When leaving, dont select "dig out" select "Crisis" or "To Crisis" and then go and do canada, and finish it normally. Then when you are back in real canada, fly over to desert and hand in the quest to Kaufman.

Vanquished Ferd (Defeat Perk)

Vanquished Gigaton (Defeat Perk)

Gallant Colonel Gertz is from the pack on the ground just inside the vault.
Grond Theft Altercation is given when near the statue's head, then you just pick up the horn next to it.

Another one in that set is the first one, I picked my research path and did Begone Fission before talking to Kaufman so I never got the part of the quest he gives, thus maknig the perk unattainable.

Some of them do "give" you stuff, like Citizen Grond gives you a photo and Brass Ring gives you a brass ring. They aren't actual inventory items or anything, but they're "theoretical loot".

Also, about the chopper, the jet that lifts off from MC used to be a helicopter, and I know you used to get that perk the first time you spawned in MC. I haven't gotten it since they changed the vehicle though.

There are a few that I'm missing though, Purple with Rage: Detroit River Bound, and Snake Gultch: Clean up the Town and Fastest Gun in the West. Never seen these.

Might as well add one of my favs, Monster Island: Manimal Crossing. Go to the lone hut in the SW corner of the boneyard, talk to the NPC, buy his item.

Also, the remaining two Machine Revolution sub-perks are found inside the starting sub of Lemuria.

I am going to be busy putting up the rest of the missions that I have, and Detroit River bound is one of them.

Go to the last pier in the lower left hand corner, the last one that is straight. Go rescue a bound Black Ace that's surrounded by New Purple Gang members and he will give you the mission after you rescue him.

Also I unlocked a new Rogue's Gallaery one, Littlest Pet Shop Boy which is for defeating Pets.

And Ohoni, by confirmed I just mean me going there and getting it so I can snag the icon so I can put it up on the wiki, ala made in China and the Dragon's gate.

Which sucks, for those people that don't have a jump or flight power. I can't get up there with SS.

There's a quest reward in Canada, that gives you a primary utility item that has a nice long recharge, but triggers acrobatics.

Eventually I believe some other travel powers will be craftable, but the acrobatics one is very fun, and I'm never going to delete or destroy the item, if I can help it.

It's something or other feline genes, or something like that.

Alright, so there are two areas in the Desert where I'm afraid I've totally missed some missions.

Just east of Greenskin is an area with hostile PRIMUS troops around level 9-10.

Just east of that is an Oasis with level 18ish DEMON members around. Here there is a lore perk next to a Master Villain mob, and you get attacked by two mobs affiliated with "Elder Worm" after killing the Master Villain and reading the lore item.

It seems like there should be some missions or something sending me to both areas. I'm now level 25, so did I totally miss these? I did both crisis zones, so perhaps the contact was not showing a ! when I got there... If I have I'll be mad, as I've been trying to be extra careful to get everything as I go. :(

basically I did all of desert and got to 15 on a character, and when I go to canada, there are quests such as the dead alive quest with mister zombie that I no longer get offered...either the npc is bugged or its not there for level 15's
You have to do some other missions to unlock that contact, iirc it's the level 7-9s from Justicar.

I found this one as well, by pure chance and i have done all the missions in the Desert that lead up to that level range and have found nothing that leads me to them either. Maybe a mission contact in MC gives it to you since there are tons of Demons in MC?

The Wiki is great by the way, couldnt you incorporate a tracker.

Having played CoH for 4 years I am quite familiar with Badge-Hunter.com. Curious as to what you would want a tracker website to do for you (beside the obvious tracking perks)? Now I may be the minority in this, but I think the in game PDA does a wonderful job of this. Part of the problem with CoH badges was that you didn't know what badges were for what and something like history plaques, you didn't know if you hit them all, so it made a lot of sense to have something outside of the game.

Personally, I am an excel junky (but that's mostly because I live and breath it at work), and i initially started out with a number of excel spreadsheets and discovered that it was easier/helpful to use the PDA.

The PDA in game does an excellent job of letting you know what items you need and what ones you don't. As well as the which ones are in progress and completed. The only thing that I think would be tracking of how many perks completed/perk points people might have. However as of right now, there is no way to see what actual Perks someone else might have aside from titles.

Ok, so once you get out of the vault and back in the crisis area. You then hop onto the helicopter and head to Canada. Do those missions, but then what? After you defeat the Raksasha how do you turn in the last quest for the Desert area? As it says you have to go to the vault and if you leave after fighting the Raksasha it takes you out of the Crisis area....

Log off for about 20 minutes, then the instance will collapse, and you'll end up back in Canada Crisis.

Then there is Pacify the Spirits which has 4 different targets. Bjorn, Kaiti, Khanukh, and Freki and Geri. Khanukh is the only one I have found. He was a wolf (tough villain I believe) somewhere on the eastern side of Canada.

The one thing that stands out about this thread is the ammount of players that it has united who are of a like mind, PERK HUNTERS, surely this is great grounds for the founding of a SG, I suggest someone forms a SG that is perk hunting based, I for one would support, and join it, and surely based on the ammount of people that have posted on this thread it would be a powerfull SG, and we would be happy to help and support each other. Many SG's have inner rivalry because of disjointed values.
Whoever founds it give it a name that reflects the interest of the members. For example dont call it " DESTROYERS" , or ," RULERS OF THE SMURFS" or " DEATH FROM ABOVE" you get the picture, a name like "HUNTERS" ( you get my meaning ) would be more appropriate.
My point being we would be made up of members who have like interests.
No need to recruit, no need to invite random players, there are enough in this thread to have a SG.
If someone has already gone down this road PLEASE let me know.

The lower level version is around loc 603 88 716, which places it near the Brain Storming quest. The higher level version is at Stroessen's Peak around 2500 139 1952. I don't know whether they did this on purpose or it is a bug and one of the others is supposed to show up in one of those spots.

Also got another heroic perk for killing a Rampaging Teleioraptor in Stroesson's Peak. It was at around 908 144 883. Name of the Perk was "The Raptor Whisperer"

I can't help but be a little bummed out regarding not knowing of Red Bug Down (or whatever it's called) all throughout beta. I should've checked when I had the chance, but now I'm flat out of luck in terms of getting it. I actually followed the perks list for guidance on what missions I had to complete and who to talk to in order to get everything else! But I never would've thought of walking on top of a crashed ship for a perk.

I wouldn't even have looked this up in the first place if I wasn't actually curious about if that named hound demon in the Canada Crisis whose only purpose now is to sometimes aggro you while doing the pilot escort mission gave a perk. Apparently, the only Vanquished perks in the two Crisis zones are for Ferd, Gigaton, and Raksasha. Guess I'm short one anyway.

Only other perk I never thought to look for was, of course, Ceiling Cat, but I can live without that since I've learned from CoH that superheroes and PvP don't mix well. Especially with how I hear defensives are functioning now.

I dunno, best I can hope for is that someday they'll let us replay the tutorial and Crisis zones again in the future. Right now, the only one I think you can replay (at least I saw the option in late Closed Beta) is Lemuria. But of course, Lemuria and Monster Island are exceptions, as they're individual instances... They'd have to create the same for those first three otherwise public zones, which would probably wind up being far more trouble than they're worth just because a few people didn't know about something or other on their first characters and felt too attached to them to reroll. That's just how I see it.

That said, thanks for keeping this topic and in-progress Wiki page rolling for folks who, unlike me, actually research the forums before hopping in and only later wonder if they're missing anything. And as is often addressed, other people can't see them anyway unless they actively go to your character's page and scroll all the way down to the bottom of your Completed Missions list. :P

Thanks, I know how to access the Perks window. That is not a HUD tracking system like the mission tracking system.

Yeah, I wish that what you could do is set your mission tracker to track active perks, via a toggle or somethign in the mission journal. I wouldn't usually want it on, but sometimes it'd be good, like when farming enemies specifically for a perk, or for example the "cave diver" perk in Lemuria, from diving in each cave in Undying Reefs, which can be a serious pain to know which you have and haven't been in, and how deep you need to get for the perk to register it.

If, the Human Test subjects is the one in Canada, they changed it. Prior the civvies got out of a vehicle and walked to the building and door, while under Viper Guard. Now, you just have to open the door of the building to set them free.

5000 is the limit for all the mob groups, as far as I recall from CB.

No, actually - killing the villian, getting her keycard, and opening the door does nothing. Your way is how it worked in beta.

Killing ALL the Vipers in the area while the prisoners are walking to the door will accomplish the mission.

Which means you can only accomplish it in a 30-second window every 15 minutes or so. Kinda like the "go save whatshisname, you've got 10 minutes, hope there's no line" mission also in Canada.

So go further on what dardove said, its x,z,y.

If you harken back to the days of XY grids, each map has one. But each (0,0) location is not in the center of the map, at least that is my assumption based on Millennium City. The (0,0) for that one starts way off to the left.

Once you know the (0,0) and you know which direction to move with the sign changes and numbers

(-,+) | (+,+)
------|------
(-,-) | (+,-)

than it's a lot easier to figure out where to go. The only thing that the Z is good for is tell you if something is higher or lower than ground level.

If you take a look at the Millennium City Map (http://www.champions-online-wiki.com/wiki/File:Millennium_City_Map.png), you can see the (0,0).

It's on the bottom, to the right of Project Greenskin. There are no missions that would take you there, so it's more of a stumble upon it sort of thing.

Having played CoH for 4 years I am quite familiar with Badge-Hunter.com. Curious as to what you would want a tracker website to do for you (beside the obvious tracking perks.

You kind of answered it yourself really when you said

"However as of right now, there is no way to see what actual Perks someone else might have aside from titles"

I do agree the ingame tracker in CO is great but everyone playes MMO games for different reasons, for example, I met a few players in CoH that just didnt get the badge collecting thing, and others who just played PvP, Me i'm a badge junkie, but without any kind of real endgame, (and lets face it if people are paying subs they aint gonna build one in), there rarely is in MMO'S, I needed motivation to carry on playing CoH once i had maxed 5 characters. what kept me playing CoH for so long was trying to climb up the leaderboard for badge collecting, it gave a competitiveness to my game besides the normal game play.
Your wiki is becoming my Bible by the way :)

Couldnt find Bjorn...and if its Bugged anyway it kind of made me want to stop looking further, Will try again post 40 (4 bars to go...come on!)

Edit 2: Respect for the Dead.

First Skull: Loc 1877 126 3030

Second Skull: Loc 1999 127 3114

Found a third rock pile at 2195 243 2526, but a skull doesn't seem to appear there. Might be bugged.

It also unlocked another one I have in progress now
Aegir Master Diver, heroic 100 points.

Out of the Wasteland (Knowledge Perk)

Vanquished Ferd (Defeat Perk)

Vanquished Gigaton (Defeat Perk)

Canada Crisis Area -

Raiders On The Storm (Knowledge Perk)

Vanquished Rakshasa (Defeat Perk)

Then once we get to the normal map area we should have all the weird perks that you might miss from the areas you can no longer get to, correct?

Add to this we are the champions - the only way to get credit for talking to witchcraft is at the celebration if you choose ravenspeak make sure you talk to witchcrat too - talking to her in normal desert does nothing

As far as the money perks go (well to do, livin' large, whatever is after that) it bugs out as soon as you buy anything. If you just sell a bunch of crap on a new character immediately you'll get well to do (if you sell 10 silver worth of stuff anyway) and the counter on living large will show your money level (eg 1,000 / 50,000). As soon as you BUY anything, this gets set to -1/50,000 .

Submitted a bug report but again this is something that has been bugged since closed beta so don't count to a fix anytime soon. Unless you plan on not crafting at all or waiting until you completely finish this perk chain to get it, it is basically impossible to get livin' large at the moment.

Does anyone know how to get the volatile perk in the High tech UTC zone? I know their is a large box at the top of the ramps in the center that is extremely volatile, and when you attack it, it blows up and does about 2600 damage to anyone around it. I have destroyed it many times, and I have even killed an enemy from it blowing up and still didn't recieve the perk.

Has anyone recieved this yet? Maybe it is bugged.

I just don't want to miss this perk by leveling out of the bracket, like I did with Cieling Cat.

If any devs are reading this, any word on allowing us to do the other UTC zones even though we level out of them? Would be nice to have a variety at higher levels.

Well, someone claimed to have gotten it, but isn't quite sure how.
From what he described though, it might involve jumping off all the buildings in Ren Center.
Although that seems kinda counter to what the Dev said.

Another option that occurred to me is that it might involve jumping from building to building, starting at the highest and ending up at the lowest.

*shrugs*

Just ideas though, no guarantees that it'll work.
