So i was doing a few missions in the desert and thought i had a solid build going , i was taking on 3to 4 mobs with ease. I then went to canada to give it a try and found the difficulty much higher, has anyone else noticed this ?

It was during the end of beta. It was night and day between Desert and Canada.
I have two characters there now, but they are waiting in the powerhouse for respec prices to be fixed so I cant tell you if it was fixed or not.

There are a lot more master villains running around I Canada. You might be running in to these?

Im pretty sure they were just the regular mobs but they HIT like a truck and my attacks seem to do much less dmg against them. Im only level 8 so there is the possiabilty these are "super villians" im still pretty RAW at this game and learning as i go:confused:

Yes, this is my experience also. Canda seems to be a lot tougher than the Desert. Good job I like a challenge.

I've never done anything but Canada, but it's never seemed that difficult for me. Are you sure they're just regular mobs?

Yeah, I've noticied that the regular mobs in Canada, if it's more than 1 or 2, seem to hit way too hard. I can only take 3 mobs tops in Canada, and I almost die, but in the desert I can take 4, sometimes 5 with no problem.

I think if you had done the desert at least once then did canada you'd see the difference is quite apparent. There isn't a difficult part in the desert, taking on many mobs at one time.

I think it's just that the mobs in Canada seem to be more condensed, as in there are really large clusters of mobs walking around. I spent most of my time flying when I was there just to avoid getting ganked by the packs of mobs. (This is just what I've observed, anyway.)

This may be very true! :)
But no lie, I went to Canada like I would the desert, and the first three mobs I encountered right outside the main quest hub whooped me bad. I died. I was like, what the hell lol :).
I made sure to NOT do canada for one reason though in the end. I wanted to do it after the game went live, so it would be fairly fresh :).

Canada has been a higher difficulty level ever since they added the Canada Crisis and readjusted all the content around it. For some reason the Canadian enemies are much harder to deal with than their Desert counterparts. It used to be much MUCH worse than it is now, with low level Canada practically being unplayable for all but the most OP builds, but it's still at least slightly harder. I would not suggest players take on the double whammy of both a Canadian character AND a melee charatcer at the same time, unless you really like the pain.

Love the pain.
Canada's been a breeze with my might character thus far. I can't wait to hop over to the desert and see how big a laugh it is, now.

Must be why I like Canada more... because I am so awesome!
LOL I kid I kid...
But I do prefer Canada. My first few characters all went desert and I was so confused at the time that it turned me off on the whole thing. By the time I figured things out I was trying out Canada so I have mostly stuck with it.

Well, Canada is la bit harder, the desert seems like easy mode for me. thats why I do the desert then MC.
The quest are tougher, and during beta there were more bugs in Canada. The desert is fairly straight forward, and seems to take a lot less time to level there.
Man I just hope I didnt just jinx my desert!! :D

During Open Beta I tested both Canada and the Desert with seperate charcters. Canada was much harder. For starters it seems the XP in Canada isn't enough to keep you in level sync with the quests. At level 9 I was having to try to do level 11 quests, like the one where you had to fight the Eel dude and the Judge Executioners.
That's been my biggest complaint with the game. The XP rates just don't seem enough. Once I got to the city I was only level 13, and by the time I was 15 I had exhausted all but the level 19 and 20 missions. I hope the XP rate has been jacked up for launch a little bit.. nothing worse than running out of content.. it's what killed AoC really.

Canada might have slightly tougher mobs but there seems to be more missions to do in the Desert, which I think makes the latter zone more enjoyable.

I hate the elevators in the desert, so I play in canada. I also finish canada and then go back and do the desert before millenium city.

Isn't Canada Larger than desert? So im guessing thats why it has far more higher level mobs.

Seems pretty much the same to me up to level 12 in both areas. I actually thought the desert might be a bit worse because of all the bad guys. I thought there were more there.

I've done Canada's crisis zone so many times I could probably run through it with my eyes closed.

Only ever done Canada once in CB and the desert once in OB, but I never really found much of a differance except the desert has mobs spaced out more with alot more empty space to refresh yourself between fights.

This
also, if your not careful, you can end up in an area that is designed for higher lvls. I remember one quest that took you to the edge of a different area, and the mobs all conned purple. So that could be the problem.
In the desert, the massive cliff walls separate the areas nicely.

I can't really say, I avoid canada because it has more contested quest objectives and I get tired of having people steal my quests items/npcs

In Canada near Steelhead there are several Master villains (wearing headdresses) that will agro and attack you from a distance while you are fighting other groups. It's probably their added damage which is making seem like a group of three henchmen is overpowered.
