View Full Version : So I guess people who bought from HMV are screwed?

Just to consolidate this to one thread, as I've posted in several but recieved no input from cryptic.

People that have ordered from the uk retailer HMV, have not recieved any codes at all, for beta or headstart in my case and others, despite the cryptic website and the hmv website saying that they are part of the headstart scheme.

Upon people contacting HMV, they were told that keys wouldn't be sent until next week, the week of release (released sept 4th here), which misses the headstart completely. It is a bank holiday weekend in the UK, so there is no way to contact HMV until tuesday because of this, so I guess people like me with no code from HMV, despite ordering, aren't actually going to get into headstart at all.

I've filed a ticket, but I don't know what that will accomplish.

I've heard that contacting Cryptic customer support, either through the ticket system or the phone number you can find from the Support links on the front page, can get this issue resolved.

Prolly because they have some of the best trade in offers on games at the moment.

I'm going to HMV today, but from what I recall... their games are always $10 or so more than EB Games. And I get a 15% discount on new, 25% on used at EB, that also discourages HMV game purchases. :p

I submitted a ticket over 24hours ago, the cryptic phone number says its only open monday-friday, and HMV support is closed for bank holiday weekend.

Through no fault of my own I'm now stuck here having done everything required for headstart, i.e. preordering from a participating retailer, yet I am still unable to play the game.

Well my ticket has been resolved now, and I am very happy with the solution.

I feel your pain, so this certainly isn't rubbing your nose in it or anything, but I ordered from Play without any hassle.

You might want to cancel the HMV order and get it from Play instead.
