Head Start Items

Hi all!

Before Cryptic 'archived' (read: totally destroyed) the forums there was a stickied dev post in the Champions Online Discussion sub-forum in which the dev was laying out all the items that could be earned in from the invasions in head start. I seem to remember that there was a clause at the end which stated that head start items would only last until September 1st, if anyone could link me to the post (I think it's now gone, along with the great forum structure) or provide me with any dev comments in which it's definitively stated whether we will or will not keep our head start event items after the game goes live I'd be very grateful.

Please note I'm not asking for opinions on whether or not head start is the live game, nor am I asking whether or not it seems fair that items would disappear on Sep 1st, I'm asking for a direct confirmation or contradiction.

I would hope that the action figures wouldn't have a limited time use... One weird thing I noticed was that the figures seem to be tied to my account, as I can use them on brand new characters.

Hm, odd. I'm hoping they're permanent too. I don't want to start camping invasions until I'm certain, however, as I don't want to waste my time with something that'll just disappear.

Thanks for replying, but that post didn't back up what you said. It just pointed out that summoned pets are for bragging purposes, it didn't say that the HS pets and perks stay come Sep 1st.

Why wouldn't they? I mean, if they're for "bragging purposes", what are you going to do otherwise? Brag for the next two days that you killed 100 Qularr and a Swarmlord 10 hours before someone else did? And then it just disappears forever come full launch?

I think you are looking for monsters when none exist.

What they most likely meant with the September 1st comment was they would no longer be available to ACQUIRE after September 1st.

Not to personally attack you OP, but have the threads on this forum in the last day are things people really need to stop worrying about. I just get this impression that people are unnecessarily getting worked up and worried about things instead of enjoying the game and having fun.

Lets take the absolutely worst case and nearly impossible scenario here, and that is the items poof after September 1st. Is that the end of the world? Of course not. So now we know even if the worst happens it would not be that big of a deal, we can now deal with the reality of what they likely meant and go enjoy the game!
