Patcher doesn't launch

When i double click the patcher Exe file it doesn't even start ...
anyone else having that problem , i even tried re installing

Btw it did work 2 days ago in Open beta...

My version does not start either. I'm new so no beta experience, but once I start the program, nothing. No crash, no hangup, just not loading.

First click it activates, gives a jabber from the firewall prog (allowing it access) and then not a peep. With the program manager under the background programs, I see two programs of CO running, but they are not doing a thing.

I tried the DVD install and the installer from the website, both the exact same effect.

I think I solved it myself by installing from DVD while having my anti-virus/firewall disabled. Patcher now launches.

I had this problem too just a short while ago and was able to solve it.

If anyone is using a special visual theme or even a skinning program like WindowBlinds, try disabling it before running the patcher.

I was having the same problem for 2 days just fixed it a few minutes ago. looked at the programs running in the background and found one called jps.exe, didn't know what it was so i hit end task and launcher popped right up. I would check for any programs you know shouldn't be running and shut them off. Just be sure not to shut off anything important.
