Just making an observation of seeing a lot of people using munitions. Is there something I dont know, or are guns just cool? :D
On a side note, I am definitely finding things more difficult now then in beta. I was doing the king pong mission and failed, last time when I did it I had no problem. I need to level up so I can rank up regen to level 2.

Might be that people got tired of all their power armor and the munitions power replaces in the event persauded them to go try that?

Well, I would say that The Rule of Cool (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main.RuleOfCool) and More Dakka (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MoreDakka) are two very big reasons for taking Munitions. For me its because 1) I'm a big fan of the Equilibrium Movie 2) Guns are cool~ ^^

Munitions does great damage and looks very cool. That's reason enough for plenty of folks. :)

I'm going minitions because it is one of the few classes with a truly obvious best superstat combo, so that I won't have to reroll.

Must love munitions.
Having munitions, flight, and personal force field I do pretty darn well in PvP.

Being able to run while shooting a maintained power is the love. Two gun Mojo for president or something.

My only problem with munitions is that Gunslinger sucks so horribly. Killer Instinct doesn't make up for the suckage that is Gunslinger. It looks good, but it is by far the worst at building energy.

Have to agree here, I think its the worst energy builder, if not the worst, one of the worst. Maybe it will get some tweakage one day.

My character is Abraham Lincoln, He has remanifested himself in order to once again face a great danger to his country (and this time also the entire world). Altho he has learned some supernatural abilities through his journey in the after life. However, he still prefers to get down to business with the weapons of his time. Notably two revolvers and a shotgun.
BTW his nemesis is Death, who is normally neutral in the super-hero vs villain world, but Lincoln's blatant disregard of Death's order, has caused death to seek any power and strength necessary to return Lincoln to where death thinks he belongs.

BTW, if you are having any energy issues with munitions, pick up quarry. Halving the costs of skills makes Killer Instinct MORE than enough to shoot your heart out.
Also remember that Killer Instinct is EGO based return, once your almost guaranteed to crit every 4 seconds, getting more ego will return more energy. And even tho your two gun mojo will cost the same, killer instinct will just keep giving more energy, I know it was giving around 60 or so with my level 40 (in level 25ish gear). You can do a bit of shooting for 60 energy.

Shouldn't reincarnated Abraham Lincoln's nemesis be Zombie John Wilkes Booth?

Anyone wanting a pair of Flintlocks or Blaster pistols should look me up in game. I can make both of them.
Specially flintlocks for any pirate types out there.
Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!
I went munitions too because of the Equilibrium synergy. :D

I went with Power Armour in the beta but went with a custom combo of power armour and munitions now as it fits with my character better. Gotta say I'm loving the new combo! Wrist Blaster builrs up energy nice and quick and 2 gun mojo pretty much destroys everything in my path. once I get to max energy I can pretty much take on 3-4 mobs without having to build energy again. Muntions ftw!

Hard to imagine Lincoln using munitions after the success of Lincoln Logs toys. Seeing a giant Stone Lincoln rise from the Washington memorial using a telephone pole to beat bad guys with...thats cinema magic right there.
Quote: "Don't make me whip out my Lincoln Log!"
Sorry. That vision just popped in my head.
OK back to the munitions discussion.

People running around shooting guns looking cool is a big theme in modern movies.
I don't care for it much in this game because I like a more classic "superhero" feel.
But a LOT of people pick powers based on the neat graphics the munitions graphics are nice for what they are, and it makes people feel cool. That's what the game's about. I suspect if you did a poll you'd find a lot more younger players using munitions.
Oddly, I think ice has some of the neatest graphics. I never planned on having an ice character, but now I think I will.

I like it because I like the really old heros of the 1930's. Back then even Batman packed heat.
Hey, I've read that its a good idea to take a passive defensive power as soon as possible. So I'm level 7 and the closest thing I see is Killer Instinct. I want to stay with a two gun motif, so I don't mind taking KI, but I was kinda hoping for Regeneration or Invulnerability. I guess I have to wait on that? What's the "conventional wisdom" on munitions defensive powers?

Lightning reflexes does well with superstatted dex. Regeneration works if you don't want to play the stereotypical "can't touch this" gunslinger. Anything else requires stats that are just 'meh' for munitions.
Also, you might want to know that KI is not a slotted passive...it's innate, meaning it does not take up any slot at all, and has just a single rank. You can easily have KI and LR active at the same time. In fact, I'd recommend it...

Well since the ONLY power replacements you can get form the Qulaar invasion are for munitions, that might have something to do with it.
They really should have had some bows and swords :( Still depressed about that :(

Personal Shield scales its regen off of Ego, which shooters should have loads of, you wouldn't be able to tank a lot with it, but for just staying alive should work great.

Yeah, but from what I've heard, the regen boost Ego gives isn't really worth it. I'd pick regen, hands down, if for no other reason than because regen ticks can crit.
I had a Dex/Ego Archer with regen and she was stupidly hard to kill. With Regen, Resurgence and the Force block skill I was tanking 3 guys in a PvP match without too much trouble. Regen is by far my favorite of the Passive D abilities.
