For those who arn't aware, you can get Booster pills for 9 resources each that either give +33% damage/+50% resist bonus or +33% instantl heal. There doesnt seem to be any recharge timers on these devices and they are dirt cheap. These seem like they will break PVP; you are pretty much limited only by your willingness to haul piles of devices around.

I have used them sparingly but the effect is far too pronounced, especially for what is basically an undocumented and unfinished feature. (For example there are 3 stores in the Ren Center that sell booster pills; they were pretty obviously in different parts of the map previously because they are named "Westside Store" etc.)

They were definitely the most cheesy aspect of pvp in beta, and I'm surprised they're still in.

I really think they should put some restrictions on what you can do and use in pvp. Upon entering I would at least clear all buffs (including the ones you get from opening component crates) and disallow the use of any consumables and active-use items.

I would love that solution. Nothing but your own abilities and teamwork and strategy. Although I suppose that still leave items with abilities on them but they sacrifice stats for that anyway so those are fine.

Really? Where!?!

In the desert, next to the tailor.

I'm guessing they're supposed to have a level requirement to them as there are higher versions that cost more but have the exact same effects, but right now the 9 resource ones work fine (Even if the level requirements worked, I still don't think they should be allowed in pvp at all). They go in stacks of 4 and have no cooldown. The only restriction is that you can't use them while held, but you can use them while teleporting, burrowing, and running.

They're so effective that you don't stand a chance without them against someone who does use them. Personally I'm mostly staying out of pvp until it's fixed.

If you really want to get the most out of them, I recommend rebinding your consumables hotkeys. I have them on ERTYU since I never really used those keys anyway. I think the keys you will be overwriting is rotate camera, autorun (which is on your middle mouse anyway), and.. the perks window?

I always do my pots on the F keys,a ctually.

They do seem a bit rediculous in their power (I went and looked into it myself after reading this). I really think I could count on one hand the number of times I've ever said this about anything, but they really could stand a nerf.

You can hardly claim they're "unbalanced" though, however OPed they may be - anyone can use them. They're cheap and readily available to anyone of any build - no one has any advantage over anyone else unless they're too stupid to buy them.

Well, one could say they are unbalanced in terms of powers, as they work much better with certain ones than others. Powers oriented around defense and reducing damage like invulnerability and super reflexes, mesh much better with booster pills than powers that are oriented around healing.

I don't believe the disallowing of them in PvP is the solution, but perhaps a Cooldown = to the duration with Diminishing Returns per each one used similar to the heal Decay in CoX.

For example if somebody is using the Dmg booster they can only run one booster at a time, which means if a dmg booster is running you can't pop a heal booster, If they use another dmg directly after that dmg booster the bonus it grants is reduced by X% until a lower maximum of Y% has been reached.

X and Y can be figured out by the numbers people. It would also limit people who want to pop a bunch of Health Boosters to stay alive for free heals.

Since not every kind of PvP in this game is Team Based I think the Boosters are a good idea as a minor way to fill holes in your build so they add another layer of strategy. The problem is that if these boosters are left unchecked matches will be more about pills than the strategy of playing the character and defeating your opponent. I'd hate to see it come to that.

inpiration spam was lame in coh, its even more lame here, if you MUST have that junk atleast give them 5 minute cooldown or something.
