View Full Version : Sorcery - When Fixed, Please unspec all sorcery powers

I understand the problem is being fixed, but at this point my character's powers are definitely not what I would want to take. An automatic unspec (of powers and advantages) would undo the problems this bug has caused and allow sorcery characters to buy their powers correctly.

Thank you.

Ideally they will let people who picked any sorcery power have a full respec I got to level 8 and could not pick what I was supposed to be able to pick so I had to go with something else. Hopefully when I log in tomorrow they have fixed sorcery power tiers and have a respec waiting on the people who picked any of them thinking it would work.

I'm tring to stay positive, but it has been pretty frustrating to play a sorcery character today. Especially with the ridiculous respec cost - there's no way I can pay to respec and get the powers I really wanted to get.

Fortunately, the respec cost is going to change soon. Even so, this was a bug that affected power availability for the majority of the powers in the tree, so hopefully a free respec will be coming.

I've been curious as to how Cryptic will handle respecs due to power changes. If a single power is signfiicantly changed, will they unselect it on all characters and reissue the power/advantage points? If so, how will they handle prerequisite ordering? What about changes that affect an entire framework, like this one? I guess we'll see. :)

True, but I might be more than ten levels deep at this point making it impossible to actually change these powers.

As far as the power availability, you have to take into consideration that it was not apparent that it was completely bugged until you hit level 11 at least. Before that point, it wasn't totally clear whether or not basic sorcery powers would count toward the powers in the four new schools.

Sure, but that's a different issue. I agree that it affects this problem, but it's also going to affect every power change from here on out. Granted, most of them aren't likely to involve the majority of powers in the framework like this one has. :)

I know the nature of the problem all too well, as it's affected my characters since Sorcery was split into subframeworks and we first started reporting it was broken. My point was that this issue severly impacts the power progression of the framework as a whole due to the sheer number of powers affected by the bug.

In fact, in spite of the respec cost issue, maybe just give everyone a free respec once Sorcery is fixed. Makes it easier than just trying to pick the ones with socery powers.

Even if the respec cost is fixed, which I'm sure it will be. I probably won't have the money to respec my Sorcerer all the way back as needed to fix my power selections.

I'm very much looking forward to the fix as well. :P

This is a good idea given the respec problems yesterday.

Does anyone know if there were any changes implemented overnight?

Everything...seems the same today. Is everyone noticing the same?

Grrr...I'm sitting at level 10 and haven't taken any new selections since level 7. I don't to lock in anything I can't respec out later with the trees seemingly being broken.

Everything is the same. I did unspec the last power I had bought, but to be honest, the amount to respec anything more than one level back, while cheaper than yesterday, is still prohibitively expensive and several times the amount of resources that I have.

Aw man, I had no idea Sorcery was borked! What is wrong? I am level 10, and have yet to see the "necromancer-like" path I thought I could take. Does this have anything to do with that?

I'm the same. Except I'm level 14 now... 3 powers waiting in the powerhouse for Sorcery to be fixed :( I hope they give everyone who has specced a respec for this, but I'm holding out just in case.

Here's hoping tonight's downtime is the fix! The patch notes (http://www.champions-online.com/node/450378) don't seem particularly detailed though...

Is this still broken? I haven't been able to actually play my sorc character. I'm missing out on the early start because I'm afraid of committing myself too deeply one way or another. I'm even afraid that I've gone too far already and will have to reroll. And I'm only just past the desert disaster.

Between the respec costs and the confusing, broken tiers/trees, I hope they give everyone in the head start a free respec. Wow.

With most MMOs (including CoX) anytime they would make major changes or fixes to a class/tree they would provide a free respec to the players who had those powers. Assuming this game is similar to most other MMOs (including the one it is most similar to) they will allow us sorcerers free respecs. I'm a bit worried though as the server did not go down at 1:00 so it seems like there won't be a patch tonight, which means the entire "early start" will have ended with many players getting no where thanks to the respec bug and the sorcery bug.

I logged in my sorceress this morning, and it looks like it's still broken. Bummer. I've just decided to shelf her in favor of a working character until the fix comes down.
