Hi,

Has the FPS improved much for you guys? It's the only thing keeping me from ordering the game.

Thanks for your time.

hmm.... I'd say it's better, but still a pain... by the time they open it up, it might be fixed, considering it's improvement since OB closed.

The constant FPS hasn't really gone up...I still only get like 30-35 FPS.

It seems to be more stable when I'm using travel powers now, though. I only dip to like 10-15 FPS when using Travel Powers. In OB I would dip to about 5.

Well it got way better for me even in the Open beta.

I noticed a big improvement tonight over OB, everything animates a lot more fluidly and I don't stutter as much when I'm moving.

Polarity-Shift, what is your setup please?

There was bad performance?

There was bad performance?

I would call a 3GHz Quad-Core, GTX 285 and 4GB of DDR2 RAM getting a max of 30~35 FPS and even going as low as 5 FPS bad performance, yes.

Nothing that spectacular at all:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processor 3800+
2 gigs of Corsair DDR2 ram
NVidia GeForce 8600 GT video card

Between them removing the debugging code, and the magical build my FPS went from 30-40 up to a solid 120!

Seriously though, it is pretty much the same for me and that is good. Once I got things set at the beginning of Open Beta I have not really had to mess with anything and have gotten real good performance.

Hmm the problem I have is my computer should be able to handle this game fine..

AMD quad core 2.6Ghz, with a 9800GT 1GB and 4GB RAM and a really fast connection. Granted things have improved, but the still, it really shouldn't be as bad as it is.

Exactly the same from what I can tell. Maybe even a bit more sluggish because there are so many noobs in the noob area :)

Off topic here....

Isn't your sig a bit redundant? XD

Doesn't your sig violate point 16 of the forum usage guidelines? :p

16. Signatures are limited to five lines of text, including blank lines, or an image that must be no larger than 500x150 pixels and 50Kb in size. Images must be in .jpg or .gif format. No animated .gif’s will be allowed. The text in the signature may be customized by the BBCode in use on the forums. It is recommended that you stick with readable fonts and colors and that the size is not too large. You may mention websites and ventures that you are in some way related to, as long as they are otherwise appropriate for this community. Focus on things that you like, not things that you don't.

Sorry, I found the whole thing pretty funny and I couldn't help myself. I don't really mean anything by it.

:( Well I've posted a lot and no one has said anything, and I've seen others with animated gifs too.

I guess I'll keep it as is unless someone from Cryptic tells me to take it out. lol

They're guidelines. I've seen dozens of other people with similar signatures and, to the best of my knowledge, none of them have been forced/asked to change them. Like I said, the intent wasn't to nitpick... just to point out the inherent irony. :p

I'm not sure I see this supposedly inherent irony lol

It's situationally ironic. You accused someone else of having a signature which was somehow inappropriate, which in turn lead to you being accused of having a signature that was equally inappropriate.

Hypocritical would have been a more accurate term, but I avoided using it due to the negative connotation. You can see how that might be interpreted as outright confrontational, which wasn't the intent. Unfortunately, linguistic subtly is not a thing conveyed well through the medium of a forum conversation.

All the same, yeah, it is pretty redundant. :p

I see. My calling his signature redundant was more a joke than anything else, highlighting the humor in having a sig that says "lifetime" subscriber and subsequently putting "forever" afterward. The term lifetime implies that it's forever (at least relative to the owner) already rendering the third word redundant. :P
