Tanking block

So I'm trying to decide on which block I should take for my character who will be tanking. I've narrowed it down to two choices:

Force Shield for the energy return or
Electric Shield for the AoE damage / threat

Really I'm curious as to whether I will be hungry enough for energy to where the Energy Shield will aide me tremendously. Otherwise I think I'll be happier doing more damage as I block.

Any opinions/advice/discussion is welcome

Consider Retaliation, too. Blocking damage builds up a damage boost on your next attack on whoever damages you.

So I've been using Force Shield up to this point, and it was working wonders for me. Things have now changed. My new options are:

TK shield - for obvious reasons, the linger effect allowing me to activate other powers and still be able to mitigate damage. But how long does the linger last, enough to warrant use so I dont have to hold block constantly

Energy Shield - For lazer knight advantage, allowing me to attack at will and still block, though obtaining the advantage means I wouldn't be able to get rank 3 leading to less damage mitigation

Ebon Shield - advantaged. If I'm Going to have to just sit there and hold block the entire time then why not take the one that will reduce more damage the longer I'm holding it.

Currently I'm leaning toward TK for the linger, but if it turns out that the linger is very minscule then I'll probably go with the Ebon.

If you're primarily melee, Lazer Knight rocks. Keep in mind, the effect is not equivalent to a full block (its basically just the linger boost) but it does noticably reduce the damage you're taking.

I had retaliation and used my free Retcon to get rid of it. The damage boost doesn't happen very often, it's not much of a damage boost, and usually I ended up wasting it because I would forget to turn off my energy builder and that would hit before a real attack.

I think for tanking, Laser Knight is really your only viable option at this point. You can more than compensate for the loss of a Rank 3 block.
