View Full Version : New gadgeteer Bots impossible to handle

I tried searching around the forums.
Am I the only one that the new "bots dont follow or teleport to you" fix is annoying the jeebees out of?
9 times out of 10, I spawn them run to fight a mob and they have despawned because I got too far from them with my travel power (even if I just ran up 50 yards)
turret mode teleport I could maybe see as needing to be fixed.
But when in bot mode having to respawn them each time someone attacks you is TOO big a change and causes massive keyboard slapping, trying to spawn them anytime someone decides you look like a good punching bag and your more than 30 feet from your bots...

Heh, you're lucky its only when you travel quickly that you're losing yours. My healbots just stand around with dumb looks on their faces (?) most of the time, not bothering to follow me when I'm on foot, or not bothering to heal me even if they do happen to be nearby.
I'd settle for having the healbots be proficient at following me around when walking and actually healing me with preference over, say, some random player who happens to walk by 120 feet away. I can live with respawning, but literally cannot live with the world's worst pathing and prioritizing bots.

oh mine do that too, they hover over my head going "wow it looks like your hurt, someone should really help you out" and then seems they try to wander off to go get help...or to observe that rock that looks interesting...not sure which

Naw I posted a few hours ago about my bots. I gave it up. The power class fell on def ears, we said something to them about this in closed/open beta and it has gotten worse.

well up until head start, they would teleport to me fine. which is a HUGE timesaver in caves and twisty areas..as they get stuck a lot.
today...in the vault Im betting I had to respawn them 30+ times, because they was either stuck (and wouldn't teleport or path to me no matter how much I danced around trying to get them to follow me) or I gave up on that, and they just faded away because I got to far away from them and they went poof.

Yeah, the new change has really messed droids up. the pathing problems in Beta were annoying but you could cope with them with the teleporting system. This new "despawn if you walk round a corner" thing is horrible.

Pathing with everything is messed up. Mobs do not update there target information very often, they tend to run to your last location when you taunt them, and this can be 3 to 5 seconds off. nothing like taunting something, then running towards them only to have the mob run to the location you were standing 3 seconds ago. sometimes even when you taunt they don't respond at all.
My guess is that there pathing system need more work, or needs to run a target check more often... communication between you and your pets needs to be looked at. some of the targeting, and positioning information is either not happening or just getting lost somewhere.

Without the teleport I'm highly considering dropping them and destroying my character concept because they are so absolutely broken. The completly bogus pathing was reduced by teleporting but now relying on the terrible coding of whoever made these pets renders them nearly useless.

Yeah I wouldn't hold your breath on that, not one dev has come to this forum and posted anything. Well maybe the sticky.
