:mad: During Open Beta, i found the perfect combination of Powerarmor and Gadgeteering, then i was so excited to finally get on and remake my character today, but then the Respec rates are through the roof, you earn one 1 resource from a villian, and the max ive seen is 200 for a mission. This is ********! Im stuck with a usless power of Expirmental Blaster that sucks, i just got enough money to respec it then go back and im too high lvl to respec it. Not Cool...

K am I missing something? I've seen about 10 threads of complaining about not being able to respec your 2nd power from set cause cost. Can you not pick your energy builder and 2nd power however you want anymore with the custom framework at the start?

You only have one choice of starting power per framework, and respecs essentially do not happen anymore.

Can you rephrase your complaint, I have just tried to make a custom skillset and it seems like I can do what ever I ilke. 1xCharger 1xDamage 1xStarter Stats. Not sure what I am missing but it seems the same as it was before to me.

P.S. Respecs work fine, sorry did you really expect them to be free with the live version. Now they cost money that is the only thing I can see that makes them not work.

...If you knew what you were going to make, why wouldn't you do a custom framework and just choose what you wanted in the first place?

Just as Merkury stated, you can always go with a custom framework, pick one power-builder set, and one other power to start. After that, you can pick from any power set you want, as long as you pick one other power which is not a power-builder.

For example, my character is a Force/Darkness character. I also want to use Supernatural for the Regeneration ability. I started out with Shadow Bolt (Darkness) as my power-builder, and Force Blast (Force) as my ranged attack. In order for me to pick up a nifty little buff like Regeneration, I had to get one other ability that wasn't a power-builder, so I went with Power Gauntlet (Power Armor). After I was able to get another ability, I went with Regeneration for my Buff Self ability and there you go!

Also, if you are into Respecs, you should try out your abilities on the target dummies in the Power House before you leave. That way, while you're in the Power House, the respec is free.

Just to make it very clear, the custom framework does not allow everything. There are power choices you can make via respecs that you cannot put together using custom frameworks.

If you use a custom framework and pay for 1 respec, then it covers all your options. One respec at level 5 or 6 is still cheap enough.

you can only choose one of the "1 power from this framework" powers in custom. For gadgets, its experimental blaster. which is vastly inferior to the chainsaw. (For instance.) If you drop the power via respec, you can get chainsaw instead.

Because the system only allows you the choice of one power from that tier when you create a custom framework, you don't get to choose from the others in that tier until you go to the powerhouse and respec it.

I think what the OP is refers to is that in open beta, they DID NOT charge a fee to respec those first power choices until AFTER you left powerhouse that first time after the tutorial. I can see his point about that and the high cost when I checked earlier (at level 6 when I got to there my powers from creation would cost the 'silver' level currency, which you dont have when you first get out of the tutorial).

Sure they do. That is why Cryptic is saying over the admin channel that they realize the respec costs are too high and are working on it. The first level respec is costing about 50x what it cost yesterday more than you have upon entering the 2nd tutorial zone unless you did serious farming.

I hope they balance it out tonight in a patch, and then if they can relatively easily do it, reset everyone's characters so they have to respec everything.

Not that I really need to respec anything, but I know others want to do it.

I did, but you can respec the second power off and get a diff one, its hard to explain, so in Open beta i dropped Expirimental blaster and go the Beam from Power Armor, and I wasnt expecting them to be free, i played open beta dumb ass, the rates are 10x what they were then, and now you make like no resources, my lvl 22 had 55gold in Open Beta

and also i agree, We should get free complete respecs after they make the change

Yeah, that's true.

They dropped the resource rates on mobs to a ridiculous amount.
LOL!

It seems like you just get 1 Resource per mob now.
Before you got decent resources per mob, and an increased award of resources from Missions.
PLUS the respec costs were less.

And I understand now what the OP was saying.

With the custom Framework you are NOT allowed to pick all the "1 power from X and 3 non energy builder powers)". As he said, if you Respec you can take the energy builder from gadgeteering and the Chainsaw from gadgeteering. If you go with Custom Framework you are NOT allowed to take the chainsaw option.

So there are several benefits to respecing at level 5.

tank goodness all my chars are waiting in the power house jsut out of the tutorial... almost every nonengery builder power from custom framework option i promptly spec out of just out of the tutorial.

in PA eyebeams are vastly superior to the charge attack (oo look sipps engery and hits 5 times for 34 and 2 crits for 75 in the damge time as one fullcharge after engery build defualt framework attack to do 99 on a crit.)

in gadat i love the chainsaw

most other frameworks the other options are at the very least more fun (I'm very anti charge attack especially if it roots me during charging can't stand it... only time I will use them is alpha strike and only if I have energy already >.>)

Honestly with all these retcon problems I wouldn't sweat it, they will probably give everyone a full free retcon to use something. And even if they dont its just a matter of waiting until one of your many abilities or powers gets a moderate change and bam retcon.
