View Full Version : So Did I completely miss the mobs in the tutorial that drop anything more than 1cp?

In another thread talking about the missings innate Akinos said this
Means you'd have to retcon your IC every time you train, and then always make your IC your final choice, keeping it on top..

Like I said, not ideal! (But would work, if you want to do that.)

Well thats fine and dandy, and I check into the powerhouse the first time at level 7 ( so obviously I did a little grinding in the tutorial) with my whopping total of 4 silver 0 copper or resource or whatever you want to call it. I hit respec and my jaw dropped. Power 2 cost= 14s58c, power 1 cost= 17s1c, and the innate I want to keep on top? 19s44c. So all told, the 4 silver I collected in 7 levels is nowhere near enough to afford even the cheapest respec and to do all 3 its 51s3c.

Very disappointed.

Could someone please direct me to the resource-laden qularr in the tutorial so my alt can make any changes at all at need?

I found most of my resources came from quests and drops. Mobs never dropped more than a few resources. Just keep killing things until you see the bright yellow exclamation point.

The problem I'm running into is that I'm leveling faster than I can earn the money to respec. I needed 12s to go back two powers to change my travel power... Well by the time I got 12s I went back to switch it out and I now need like 60s because I leveled twice from when I was last there... At this rate I'll never be able to afford switching my last power or two because I'll be leveling faster than I can earn money.

I never had this issue in open beta. What changed? /sigh

Among others. You're not the only one.

I think you missed the point. I did EVERY quest in the tutorial. I did the Ironcclad mission several times. I left the tutorial at level 7 instead of the normal lvl 5, with a total of 4 silver. I checked into the powerhouse with only 3 items to respec, 2 powers and 1 IC, and I couldnt even afford 1/3 of the very first item to respec, let alone keep the IC on top as Arkinos said. Now I can try to do more quests and stuff with only 2 powers neither ranked, but I seriously doubt thats how a game is designed to keep customers. In the Open Beta, the first time you entered a Powerhouse, you were able to respec your 2 starting powers and ic for a TOTAL of 0copper or whatver its called. Suddenly that has changed from 0c to 51s.

Why did they hideously increase the price of Re-spec? also on another point they still haven't put the mob XP back to a reasonable amount, if there gonna keep it so low why have mob XP at all?

Foxbat gave me an action figure. Does that count?

I think the Qualar you are referring to are not in the tutorial but everywhere else in the world.

Which isnt very helpful with your first trip into the powerhouse after leaving the tutorial, no?

It used to be (and still should be, IMO) free to respec on your first trip to the Powerhouse. It annoyed me that I could not afford to respec out of my initial non-EB attack, since I'm forced into choosing that particular attack from my set when there are other available attacks I *should* be able to choose from.

Well, I can help you with your next alt.

Next time don't get to level 7 in the tutorial. If you are good you can get to canada and still only have just gotten to level 5. In fact if you are level 5 when you hit Champions HQ in the Tutorial then you can do better, and I'm talking about still getting all the quests done, and every perk available.

Now, you are in Canada, and there's a raised mound with a named ice wolf on it that is littered with science crafting boxes.

You will take Science eh? Of course you will, you can always switch back to another crafting skill later.

Then you will kill a named wolf, which seems to almost always give a drop, and you will open boxes again and again and you will Still be level 5 when you are rich from selling those crafting items and named doggy drops to the Store.

Ok, maybe level 6 since you killed the named ice dog alot, but that's it

Tenzhi, you want to click the Custom box at the bottom of the powerset pick page in the character creation, then you can choose any two powers at the start, from any two powersets.

No, you cannot choose from all the powers that you should have available that way. You can only select from the limited-to-one-attack-per-powerset list they give you at creation. If you respec out of your first non-EB Fire attack and you have the Fire EB then you have more than just that one fire attack option they give you at creation to choose from.

And in arms I can collect all the arms boxes south of the base in Canada, or I can collect al the science boxes in the tents at desert crisis. None of that changes the price of the respec on my first trip into the powerhouse. And, unless I spam zone chat trying to sell these items to the other poor schmucks (emphasis on poor- which is probaby why I had no luck when I did this), there is a small matter that there is no AH in the desert or canada, and you have to progress through the final crisis to get to MC and use the AH there.

BTW, the problem wasnt that I was level 7. If you didnt read before this was 1st trip into powerhouse so I had the same amount of powers/iC/talent/advantages to remove as if I were level 5., or level 3, or level 1. Thankfully, I think they are working on fixing this. Too late for my main character of course.
