As much pain as having ordered from D2D and not getting into head start has caused, its even worse for those that did go through Gamestop or such and now can't get in (let alone the European retailers).
Before that, I would have recognized Cryptic's concerns over legal contracts where certain retailers may have paid or such for that right despite feeling a bit misled in terms of how I arrived at D2D for my preorder through the Cryptic site. My suggestion for legal concerns would have been to speed create something like a 2 or 3 month discount subscription option as a "here's our way around it to ease your problem without having to fork over $200 or $60" as one might not be inclined to do while upset.
But with the larger and larger number of posts seen (and who knows how many tickets) on those that did order from proper locations to get into head start and that can't, its a much wider issue. If Cryptic carries on trying to fix it on a ticket by ticket basis or ignoring those with such problems and pointing them back to the retailer on a weekend, I have a feeling a significant amount of them are going to cancel preorders, call credit card companies to have charges reversed over non-delivery of product, etc.
Bought the only way I can figure them being able to fix this without going case-by-case is either ignore it or open up HS to all beta keys. Yes, that conveniently fixes the D2D purchasers problems too (I'm not totally altruistic, hero or not LOL) but it also solves the problems en masse for those purchasing from the flagged "head start" retailers that can't get in either.
