Does this combo sound ok? Any advice on some low level skills and attributes to get first?

It tends to be what I use. I can't recommend a build, but I found starting force with Power Armor stats (Intellegence & Strength) worked for me. However use Strength or whatever the stat boost is for PFF (I forget, I think it's End) depending on which defensive power you want. Intellegence is good if you dip slightly into Gadgeteering for a pet or two (Healbots are a wonderful compliment) not to mention will feed a lot of the PA stuff. Force is good as well, but oddly boring, so having PA to flesh out the build is a welcome addition.
