IMO, you want to take Roomsweeper much, much earlier. You will appreciate the AoE cone effect for dealing with mobs. Even at rank 1, when fully charged, you will be doing a good deal of damage to equal con mobs in the area of effect. You will want to be able to dispose of the 3-mob packs of henchman that you will routinely be coming across in an efficient manner, and Roomsweeper does this quite well. I would actually recommend that you replace Beatdown with Roomsweeper at your first visit to the Powerhouse. Just respec out of Beatdown and pick up Roomsweeper. This will allow you to also pick up another power, as you will have your lvl 5 power point available as well. I would recommend that you potentially look into Enrage, or even a passive defense, even this early in the character's development.
Far be it from me to tell you how to build your character, it is, after all, yours. Looking at your build, I think I would also not take Hurl. Unless you plan on doing a lot of PvP, and you upgrade Hurl with Rubble Trouble, you are just as well off finding some throwable object to deal ranged damage, especially with the Super Stats you are planning on taking advantage of.

Thanks for the input. Might cost me to much to respec out of Beatdown, been reading on the forums that respec costs have gone up - :\
I was thinking the same thing with Hurl, there is always something to pick up and throw at someone.

Respec costs are basically unpayable atm. My first visit to the powerhouse after just finishing the tutorial was 14 national & change, I had 3.65 national. At next level up, selling *everything* including the gear I was using, I had 13.1 national, and one step back retconning was 21 national. Better like your starting abilities, imo.

Just wondering why you're taking both Defiance and Regeneration? We're you planning for dual role builds?
Personally, I found Defiance horrible on my Might in Open Beta. When we had instant 40's, I tested both lvl3 Defiance and lvl 3 Invulnerability against the level 40 apocalypse mobs near the beta's close and found Defiance serverly wanting. This was running in the defensive role with level 25-ish gear for CON and STR with both as super stats.
With Invulnerability plus the Resurgence self heal I was able to tank Megadestroids indefinately without support and could solo the waves of Villains and Henchmen that were spawning in the streets (albiet with heavy turtleing).
I found the mitigation of Defiance to be Inferior to Invulnerability and the energy returns from Defiance weren't really needed when I was running either defensively or balanced.
I guess what I'm saying is, unless you're going for a Might-only concept, I don't see the draw for Defiance at all. Maybe someone can enlighten me?

Get the best of both worlds. Take Invulnerability and defensive combo to stack defiance.

Why the hate on Beatdown? I think it's a good power to have. The stun happens quite a bit after hitting someone a couple of times.

Str Con builds benefit more from Invuln then Regen.
You just need a heal from Bots or Nano to supplement.

the problem then would be how do you use enrage without also having to take defensive combo, or just rely on some of the other abilities to randomly give it to you?
