Hey all, this isnt really a recuitment, but hopefully experienced some experienced SG leaders/webmasters will chime in..
I'm currently researching open source CMS/Portal for guild/community management software and I am looking for help! I'm looking specifically for a software package that has the following integrations:
Forum
Character roster (allowing each member to list multiple characters)
Event Calendar (allowing members to create their own event, and sign up on a per character basis)
News/blog (for SG news, allowing members to comment)
Is there such a thing with these requirements? I've looked at a few Forum/portal software, but I really do not have much experience in them to determine if it has what I need. Ideally, the platform would be centered around a forum, with addon mods to cover the other requirements. I have some web dev experience (in wordpress), but I would much prefer to have at least an existing mod to work off of rather than building it from scratch.
I know there are hosted solutions like GuildPortal.com and GuildLaunch.com but I would rather stay away from them because:
I have shared space that has been paid for and is not being used
I prefer having something more flexible since I can do minor hacks if need be
The primary goal is to NOT pay for anything and/or be forced to display ads (if its free).
Comments? Suggestions? Solutions?
