View Full Version : Demolish and Burning Chi fist, or Uppercut and Haymaker?

So I finally managed to get both my con and str in the 300s. Not that it matters with the upcoming change to super stats anyway. But I still wanted to know, especially on a cosmic fight, would it be more beneficial and more damage to use a demolish tap with fully charged BCFs? Or would the uppercut and haymaker combo over power them with raw damage? I took into fact that Haymaker does increased damage to anything resistant to knockback, but I also took into account that demolish debuffs a % of dmg resistance and BCF fully charged goes through half of whatever is left.

On one hand, Uppercut and Haymaker combo means that enrage and Aggressor stacks are up 100% of the time, on the other hand, demolish and BCF cut through damage resistances, hitting targets as if they were only wearing less than half of their armor. Thoughts?

I'm a tank, and I do use the massive spike damage from Haymaker to hold threat on cosmics.

Thanks in advance.

If you're looking for a spike attack to hold threat when in a team, I would say Burning Chi Fist is a good choice : energy cost is not too high, fast charge time and a damage penetration.

Consider Demolish mainly if you want to help your teammate dpsers to kill faster the cosmic you're tanking.

I see tankers using Haymaker mainly in combo with uppercut for their stacks of Enrage. It's a good spike attack but if you can already manage your Enrage then BCF or Demolish are good options.

I would say it depends on what do you need.
Do you need a spike attack that helps to manage your Enrage?
Do you need a spike attack that you can charge fast?
Do you need a spike attack that applies a damage debuff to kill faster the Cosmic you're tanking?

Mostly it's just to hold the cosmic, but at the same time, contribute spike damage to the team. I guess in some, or even most cases that demolish along with burning chi would contribute more. On a threat gaining level, I see haymaker generating more of it due to raw damage.

Against cosmics, Devour Essence would probably be a better option. Holds threat nicely, because it's a maintain CC attack, and heals you for a little bit, taking some pressure off the healer. You won't be able to hold threat without spamming a CC attack if you teammates have strong DPS.

If you ever PvP though, Uppercut Haymaker wins because they provide control. People flying in the air can't hit back or activated their ADs.
