Well, I finished my PvP gear-gathering on my main yesterday - 5 secondaries and a primary. Yes, the primary is one of those 5-stat items, and it's brilliant. I had 6k banked before the purple revamp and I have a bit more than that now, so 450,000+ acclain in the last few weeks - not nearly as grindy as UNITY or NEMESIS rewards. I hope those and crafted 40-purples get a similar revamp soonish.

Had generally a good time, though I don't feel like the options other than ZA gave very good return on time invested comparitively, even when I was winning. I'm sure I'll continue to play a bit as I met some nice folks and got to know a number of regulars in the time frames I play in. I'd also like to see Stronghold generate more of an intersting match - every time I was in there turned into a roflstomp one way or the other.

I do have to chuckle that with just shy of 10k hp, able to cast 4k of bubles every other second roughly forever, self-healing 1,200 points every 6 seconds, and with an active defense that borders on absurd, I'm still a SQUISHY. That's a rough crowd, comming from the PvE side of the house :D. It's also a bit bizzare being able to one-shot many people right through their block (5-6k even blocked) and still not be able to scratch some folks. Like I said: rough crowd. Nice folks (ussually) but some serious applied mechanics going on.

Loving AoPM as my new passive (swapped from my earlier PvP-ineffectual Regeneration). It's very much in keeping with the original, day one CoH concept of the character from aobut 6 years ago. Heres a quick snapshot of my stats with all those purples at work :).

I know you were doing it for gear, but thank you. It's good to see people trying out the current PvP game in T4.

I started pvping because of the gear revamp. PvP Gear grind >>>>>anything else. It has been nice to see that my PvE TK build can do alright in SH. I will wait until I figure out a REAL pvp build before jumping into UTC and BASH FF pvp. I have also had a pleasurable experience with all the pvp folks.

I have also developed a major disdain for FG at the moment, but been having a blast so far.

I have a late-teens alt that's using some things I learned from my main to spice up a roomsweeper/invulnerability PVP build. Amusing in ZA and just shy of god-mode out in the world questing. Properly geared it should be a monster. I'll probably keep at it in a leisurely fashion with Nike just to build a cushion against the level cap increase.
