View Full Version : Lag and disconnects

Its just me or you guys also have these heavy lags and disconnects. The game is just unplayable for me.

I have a good broadband link, i play anything just fine, but this game keeps saying that "server not responding" thing. And after that i can expect a huge rollback, or a plain disconnect.

Im not running any firewalls, etc. Is there any port fowarding that im missing?

Any tips apreciated.

the game uses ports 7000-7500 and requires them to be unblocked and unfiltered. Aslo the server are not very tolerent on weak connections like you sometime get using wireless.

do and post the results of a tracert patchserver.crypticstudios.com and a nettest

Nettest:
Go to http://files.champions-online.com/nettest.exe
Download this file and run it
A command prompt should appear running the test automatically

For good connections, column 1 and 3 have values around 500 kb/sec (outgoing/incoming), column 2 has values around 20 kb/sec (transfer rate). If the values in these columns is less than what is expected you may have filtering or blocked ports either on your personal network or from your ISP.

also some programs like teamviewer prevents the game from working so be sure to try with a clean boot and no extra programs running.

I'm also getting lag to the point I disconnect while loading the zone or within seconds of entering since the patch. Sucks wanted to try my gamepad tonight.

Nettest doesn´t look good for me...

I do use a wireless router to share my internet across my other devices, but my PC is physically connectet to it.

Any thoughts?

To me the game is currently unplayable. Unbelievable lag, random disconnects and something that looks like heavy package lose. I took 1 hour just to finish the last part of the tutorial.

I'm no tech guru or anything, but have you guys tried using one of the proxy servers?

I think its under 'Options' in the launcher.

Hope you get your problems resolved soon :)

That proxy thing is only for patching, not for running the game.

Still stuck, trying to figure this out.

Same problems - I can't even get to the game 95% of the time - I can select a character, but once I do that, the game tries to connect to the server, and then I keep getting a "server not responding" message.
In the few times that I was able to connect (which only happened 2 or 3 times the past 3 days) , the game was extremely laggy, and it kept disconnecting. It's simply not possible to play like this.

I don't have wireless network - I use a broadband connection, which is directly connected to my computer.
I have no idea if this might help:

Your Internet connection is a problem. What sort of connection are you on, both locally and to your ISP?

you can also try disabling anti virus or firewall for the meantime to test if you will have better connection.

Well, yesterday i played without any lag and only one disconnection (played over 4 hours).

So, its only happening at random times.

OK, the solution to my problem is simple - in the launcher, go to options, and select a proxy. I selected EU and everything worked fine since.
