As I understand it, these 8 listed here are those scheduled for the start of FTP...which is a good start I guess. The changes to passives should make thme all fairly viable ingame, even if none of them are at the top of the pile as far as design.
The one question this raises though, is that as each archetype represents one of the powersets, and there are roughly 23 powersets, can we expect to see free archetypes representing each powerset, or will some powersets be solely available as special content?
Also, we've been told that although the basic archetypes represent single powersets, there are plans in the works for more refined powersets, which encapsulate several powersets or even frameworks at once..Are these to be free or special? A mixture perhaps?
I'm curious to see where we go from here. I can see the roots of an interesting system here, but I'd like a bit more insight into where its heading.
Edit:
A couple other things this raises....will archetypes be expensive or cheap to buy? I know specific numbers are hard to set down at this point, but will it cost more to get an archetype than a costume set? More than costume slots?
And how about making archetypes unlockable ingame? Maybe special ones tied to each crafting branch, reachable through crafting quests? World drops?
