Simple as that. If you don't like the F2P limitations don't play or go gold member. Don't start comparing it with DDO, LotRO because than I would just tell you, go play those, they're free and have no limitations happy gaming.

The amount of people exploding with contempt right now is just showing how bad the community might get when these people come flooding into the game after F2P launches.

People are stupid. There's a famous experiment where people are told to divide up a pool of money. One person decides how to divide the money, and the second person has to accept that division or reject it, and if he rejects, no one gets any money. Amazingly, with "unfair" divisions (e.g., 80/20 split), the second person will reject the free $20, just to keep the first person from getting $80. Not sure how this is germane to the thread, but your comment reminded me of this.

So many people want something for nothing, nevermind the business providing what they want needs to make money in order to continue providing what they want.

I'm in complete agreement. Put up, shut up, or go home. I don't mind the occasional debate on what people think should change with the FtP model as long as it's well thought out and not a direct attack and laced with false entitlement issues.

Here I have a tip for you OP:

If people complaining bother you, don't leave your house and disconnect your internet connection.

Oh, no. There must be a beacon in the darkness! A beacon that can't be shut down, even if it does drive the QQ-lar crazy! ;)

We need to shut down all those beacons. No matter what it takes. Even if we have to launch the Ironclad Defense.

No, you cannot launch the Ironclad Defense until you shut down ALL the beacons.

I always figured it was an "order of convenience" thing.

Of course. We want them to be fully rational when we put the smack down on 'em.

Waste all that effort on unreasoning beings? Pfffft.

:D

I think Silver members should only get to shut down SOME of those beacons. They're only KIND OF annoying the Qulaar.

"We have to shut some SOME of those Beacons, they're emitting a high frequency signal that is drivng the Qularr to watch Oprah! That's what caused them to attack!"

*shrug* It's a risk they've chosen to take.

Personally, I do think they're limiting it in the wrong ways. Completely level-locked archetypes (without even the lesser selective freedom CoH archetypes have) serve as a poor advertisement for the game's flexible power choice system, and I don't think that many people who are even interested in that haven't already tried the game.
