Would it be possible to make some alternate weapon noise for the Munitions Weapons that can be selected at the tailor under weapons?

It would be a nice thing, given that you also have different variants of weapons sometimes there. For example, I use one replacer that makes it look like I'm walking around with a G36c assault rifle variant. But I'm using the stock smg sound. Another SMG replacement is a machine pistol. Which doesn't even orient to the hands properly!

Might I suggest looking into say, the sound packs that games like Doom have used? People complain about your shotgun sound fx, but I don't EVER think I've heard anyone complain about the one from that game... (hint).

I stopped playing one of my toons, an alien bounty hunter, because I couldn't make it sound as if his guns were shooting lasers instead of bullets, so I am all for this.

Agreed.. there's some very nice munition skins, yet they sound all the same... =(

I agree, some variety in munitions sounds would go a long way for the multiple characters I have that use munitions.

I can really agree with this one. It shouldn't even be that much work on their end seeing as many of the power replacers already have different sounds. I'd love to be able to keep the Gatling Pistol sounds once I've outleveled the replacer.

I would really, really, REALLY like it if a power replacer costume unlock (e.g. flintlocks on one of my chars) would also PERMANENTLY UNLOCK THE SOUND for that weapon if you have it as the active weapon on the cozzie creator. (I love that flintlock BANG.)

As it is, when you stop using the power replacer, you retain the possibility of using that model for your gun, but you don't retain the sound that goes with it.

Just a bit of QOL fluff, but it would make me feel all warm and cuddly towards the devs if it was implemented :)

I know it was 'possible' to replace the default sounds in City of Heroes, but it required a bit of work, and audio editing knowledge.

I'd be more than willing to put a 'munitions' sound pack together, if someone else knows how to access the audio files in game???


Of course, that might be a major "no no"?? Copy infringment, TOS violation?


However, I'd like to point out, the munitions sounds in game are perhaps the WORST gun sounds I've ever heard in ANY game, ever.

Hence, why I'd be willing to put an audio pack together, because I love munitions, but the 'phew phew' weakness of the audio drives me nuts. Makes me feel impotent, despite the damage numbers I see.

There might be a market there for thematic power-replacers with different audio sfx and visual gfx.

I think it would be cool if you could change the munitions type in the costume and make your guns emit stuff like lasers with a different firing sound - so when you equip a laser pistol it actually shoots lasers instead of bullets.

You can change whats emitted with a power-replacer, I don't have the name of it to hand (although i have one in the bank ready for when my Muni-toon hits 40).... Its Psi-gunner time! (youtube search for Champions Online Psi Gunner).

I too concur with the option to change to several different sound for weapons. Some I feel are right in my personal opinion, but I found other weapon sounds lacking (most noticeably the mini-gun and sniper). Giving a few alternatives to choose out from would be great and gives us that bit more of oomph and immersion :)
