Hmm, I was wondering : what's happening to lifetime subscribers ?
Are we to become gold, silver, or something else subscribers...?
Thanks !!

I pasted it here from the FAQ:
Q: I'm currently a Lifetime subscriber to Champions Online. Where do I fit in?Top
Lifetime subscribers become Gold Members automatically. They will not be charged a continuing subscription fee. Basically, nothing changes for Lifetime subscribers: They continue to have complete access to the same content, items and adventures they always have.

Yeah, I'm not sure why Star Trek kept offering it after launch like they did but CO didn't I'm glad STO did, since that's how I got mine, but the reasoning behind not continuing to offer it here while offering it there is lost on me. Hell I have friends who have said several times they'd come to CO if they offered the lifetime, but they don't want another monthly reoccurring charge. Now that we're going F2P, maybe they'll come check it out again.

Can you imagine what these forums would have been like if they offered Lifetime subs up till today? Someone could have thrown down 200 big ones on a sub and then the next day hear that everyone is getting the game for free. I can guarantee you that they didn't offer them again because they were afraid of the fallout.
Moving forward, Im also sure that the lifetime subs will be offered again sometime after the F2P model goes live. That way the buyers will be well aware of all the payment options.

Why would they offer a "Lifer Sub" if they are going FreeP? I mean, seriously now, think about it.

Someone might want the Gold Member stuff and be willing to pay a 1-time lump sum for it...

I'm not so sure... A lifetime subscriber still gets their money's worth if they buy it a month before the game goes free.
Hell, the Free to Play announcement even spawned a thread or two about asking for lifetime subs to be reinstated.
Seriously, no matter what Champs has done, its always had people that want the lifetime subscription.

Yeah, people who know all the info...and the direction that CO is going...are willing to buy lifetime subs. We've also seen today people with lifetime subs asking for a refund because they dont like the direction the game is going.
What if people had thrown down $200 on a lifetime sub to learn one month later that the payment method was changing? Come on Smack...you've been around the block here...you know there would be some (maybe a lot, maybe a little) that would have been really upset to learn that they could play for free down the road.
Whether there is a lot of value in the deal or not, people should know all the options that are available or under consideration.
