i see all the things about converting your character to silver and such, but does that mean that you are still able to continue your character or does that destroy everything you worked (and payed) for?

We're still working out the exact specifics on how the transition from Gold to Silver will work, but anything you've purchased, you will keep. We'll explain in more detail after we've worked out with our beta testers the best solution for the Gold to Silver conversion.

I'd guess, forced retcon into archetype character.

And likely removal of any premium costume pieces that weren't explicitly purchased.

My question actually goes a bit further than that. Since you're allowed more character slots in Gold what happens if you switch to Silver (assuming you filled every slot). Do you get to pick which 2 you can play and freeze the others. Or will they be wiped out?

This was in a different post by poz somewhere. Don't ask me to find it now. But the way I understand is.. The others freeze. You can't play them. I do not know how you "decide" which two to Silverize (I like that word)

Also, your base char slot limit drops to 2 - Which means you now might have more characters than you're allowed to have. Cryptic do not delete those extra characters, but they do require you to buy free slots for them if you want to Silverize them and play them.

Poz answered this. Nothing is ever wiped out. You can convert up to two characters to Silver, the rest are locked out. If you wanted to make a new Silver character you'd have to buy 8 character slots or delete 7 of the existing characters. Or just create a new account.

Not quite. My interpretation of poz's post is that you're grandfathered the extra slots. Thus, you will be able to play any of your existing characters... as long as you're willing to convert them to a Silver character. But you won't be able to create a new character unless you somehow make up for those grandfathered slots (by buying more or deleting characters).

That's right, yes - I misunderstood.

Yes. This.
