Hello everyone,

Currently lvl 16 fire toon and wondering about conflag. Took conflag a few levels ago and have it at rank 3. However I was wondering which is more important: rank 3 or burning rain and if I should retcon out rank 3 for burning rain.

My current SS are Rec/Pre and my attack pattern is pretty much just cast flash fire then conflag to death, Fireball/UA and Force Sheild/Sheath to follow in the next two powers, already have fire form and thermal reverb, no healing.

Any tips or thoughts on the matter?

I currently have Rank 3 Conflag. A lot of people take Burning Rain to fix a bug in the power where it turns off when its primary target dies. Then you have to retarget and start it again. An upcoming patch is going to fix this, so I would stick to R3 myself. At that point Burning Rain will become more situational.

Thanks for the tip. So what is the actual purpose of burning rain then? The in game text is a bit vague.

It supposed to track, ie follow your target, so they cant move out of the way of the conflag.

Currently, unadvantaged Conflag has several bugs assosciated with it, including: stops maintain if target dies, first tick only hits primary target, first tick does Rank 1 damage.

Burning Rain does not track targets as it should, but it does fix all of those other bugs.

IMO Burning Rain is worth it, because in short term fights the damage lost by not taking R3 is made up for by the first tick doing full R2 damage to all targets. And because restarting the maintain all the time is a serious rectal pain.

These bugs (including the bug of Burning Rain failing to track) are set to be fixed in an upcoming patch. Last I checked, the fixes were on the PTS already and were working as advertised.
