Please bare with me, i am new. Call me a noob if you will lol

However what stats should i go with for an Infernal build? If i'm going for DPS...

Its gonna be an alt, and chances are for mostly PVP? Its just me, but with this toon i'm more concerned with DPS and the quick kill, than survival.

If i were building a toon based on that, whay would you suggest?

You could check out WillBlacks thread on all the power sets which stats and abilities are preferred and why

As saldan says WillBlacks post includes lots of good information.

The thing with Infernal is its a pretty open power set with lots of nice options I would say base your super stats on what passive you decided to pick if you take fire go with Rec/Pre if you go with ice go End/Dex if you go pestilence then your options are pretty much wide open as it doesn't scale with any stat (i'm having pretty good results with Con/Dex as SS and Ego/End as secondary stats)

If your wanting that quick kill though i would look towards either Fire or Ice they both have there advantages which Will outlines in his guide.

I appreciate it all

Only question i have is will i be ok taking fire form, and then all the rest my powers being infernal?

The only problem is that Fiery Form scales with Pre. You might be better off with Ice Form because it scales with End. Or with Pestilence.

The Pre could work well in conjunction with heal abilities specifically devour essence but for a quick kill build i would go with ICE form and DEX/END superstats and some EGO landing a tapped Defile followed by a fully charged Defile should really hurt.

That... its very dirty... you'll want rank 3 defile, rank 3 venomous breath, circle of arcane power and teleport... the world will bow down to you

Oh nasty though im not a huge fan of circles of glass cannon characters i like to be mobile though dose TPing and not moving from the circle count for maintaining it?

I'm think as a build something like

Infernal bolts
Venomous Breath (rank 3)
Devour Essence
Teleport (i can feel the love :P )
Soul Mesmerism
Aspect of the Infernal (rank 3)
Defile (rank 3)
Ice Form (rank 3)
Masterful Dodge (rank 2 + unfettered strikes)
Bountiful Chi Resurgence (rank 2 + resurgent)
Electric Sheath (rank 2 + matter - Energu Union)
Force Eruption (Graviational polarity)
Circle of Arcane power

Pick up a piece of dodge gear at 26 (I think 26 is the earliest you can get one at?) and you should be golden masterful dodge and electric sheath will both boost your damage and help you live longer and as one is a active defence and the other is a active offence they won't force each other onto cool downs or if your really in trouble you can activate both at the same time. I've only put DE at rank 2 because ranking dosn't effect healing (you could probably just leave it at rank 1) and in this build its more a means of recovering some HP than laying your target low just hit them with a soul mesmerism and then move in to use DE.

Stat wise its tricky definitely go DEX/END as super-stats as were looking to kill nice and quick with your own survival being secondary to them being dead (of course if there dead there not killing you so that's a win)

The problem with the stats arises when you consider that Ego and End both share the primary utility slot as well as sharing the secondary utility and defence slots which is rather annoying. but not a complete disaster DEX is competing with nothing important for that primary offence slot so gathering lots of Dex should be a cake walk you can then use talents to boost END and EGO to offset the fact that there competing stats

going something like
Impetus (innate for force)
Sniper Training (It dose End,Ego and Dex what not to like)
Field Training
Survival Training
Accurate
Daredevil
Boundless Reserves

which gives you

Dex 21 (101 with SS lvl 40 bonus)
Con 21
Ego 28
End 39 (119 with ss lvl 40 bonus)

you also have slightly raised Rec, Pre and Int but to no great degree

Add in gear and you'll get to the %30 SS easy as well as having a nice level of Ego for crit severity

Your also making no real use of the primary defence slot other than to boost you Con so in the later game you can remove the con gear from there and replace it with dodge gear if you so desire.

Also for getting the best gear i recommend the serpents lantern adventure pack I've only managed one complete run thrue it so far but already walked away with some good gear which has really boosted the stats of my character above what i had at her level (23)

Think I'll go Dex/End when I get a chance to try it out =)

Another question: how would this build work out leveling from say a level 14 perspective? I might turn this into a leveling PvE/off PvP build

All great advice, I appreciate it.

Now my only thing is having to wait till level 16-17 just to get fire forum or ice form : ( i'll be alright though, take pestilence until then and retcon back.

If your working from 14 you should be fine as by that point the builds pretty solid by that point.

Its not so bad your going to be delivering good damage without it so the forms really just icing on top of the cake.

Hello,

I'm just resubbing after buying CO when it first came out but never subscribing (only really getting to level 12 or 14 or something)

I was wondering if this build would work well for leveling, pvp, and especially pve (solo, end game raids).

I basically took what you previously posted and combined it a bit with WillBlack's post.

I was thinking it might be useful to get either supernatural power or circle of arcane power earlier to help with the energy demand.

EDIT** Or should I go with a leveling build up to 40 and then respec my guy at 40? Hmm... I don't know how many raids go on in this game but it would be fun to be able to do both end game pvp and pve on the same character. I suppose I would rather be really good at pvp, and make a toon that is really good at pve, than be decent at both.

You probably want to grab supernatural power earlier I would be tempted to take out devour essence to get SP in as with it you'll be able to use venomus breath constantly with no need for your endurance builder to even fire.

loosing devour essence will mean you missing a solid single target attack but VB should be more than sufficent to get to 14 where you can pick up defile.

As to doing PvP and PvE on the same toon its perfectly possible in tiers 1 and 2 to pretty much PvP with anything in the tiers 3 and 4 though you have to be that bit more dedicated to a PvP build taking things like holds and hold breakers both of which you can do without in the PvE game. But a PvP specked build will work perfectly well in PvE.

One thing you may find if your serious about PvP is that you will probably have to alter your build as time go's bye to counter new tactics other players are using.

A couple of other things that I notice concerning your build you have Force Eruption with the Gravitational Polarity advantage and Circle Of Arcane Power to take full advantage of both of these you need to be standing still which isn't the best move in PvP. Force Eruption with the Gravitational Polarity advantage while seeming like a good move to counter any one why wants to close to melee distance really isn't its KB while pretty strong in PvE is not sufficient in PvP to KB most melee based toons and even if it is they'll quickly close the gap again using a lunge you may want to consider replacing it with feild surge which would give you a second click defence so that you can alternate between it and Masterful Dodg. Field surge can also be advantaged to act as a damage boost.

Thanks very much for your help, currently at lvl 17 and loving how much ice form just increased my DPS ^.^
